So Quantum Break was annouced to be coming to steam and retail in september . Do you think this sets a trend for games like Gears Of War, Recore, and other exclusives to come to steam and windows 7?

most, yes. but not all. Minesweeper will not be making its way to steam which is too bad, the new version's adventure mode is kinda cool

Minesweeper and Solitaire are still available from the Windows Store. No idea about the other stuff
The amount of money they could make from such a pack is negligible for Microsoft. It's worth more to them as a reason for people to use the Windows Store

Honestly, (without deviating too much from the topic), I don't think the idea of having my UWP game potentially available in my PC and my (imaginary) Xbone is a bad idea, even with all the downsides of UWP. With that said, I don't think MS will stay on this whole Windows Store exclusivity boat for too long, as I'm certain that in the long term, having their games available only on the Store isn't nearly as profitable as having them be both on the Store and on Steam, so, if all goes well, then "yes", most AAA games will eventually find their way into becoming available on Steam as well, at least that's what I think.

I don't think so unfortunately. Would love to be able to play killer instinct without being on xbone or upgrading to win10.

only if their dead in the water, but that is highly unlikely or the "exclusives" are getting old -
all this "free win 10 shit" was to enable people to buy applications in their store

yeah and it was like that one thing for the basic versions of windows (ppl with home premium) you had to end up paying 10 or 15 for the dvd player app (it was included free with premium and above?)

I think for this depending on the game and how the exclusive contact goes, you may be seeing some xbox or even ps4 exclusive titles coming to pc - but I wouldn't get your hopes up for say Halo, Gears, or the other xbox brand name titles - since those are what make people buy the xbox.

for me there isn't that much exclusives I want and that is why personally I bought a ps4 over xbox one... I originally had the 360, but im sick of gears, sick of halo and sick of pretty much all of xbox's exclusives.

Forza Horizon 3 needs to be on Steam.
MS is taking some really bad decisions in these last few years.

When Forza motorsport / horizon will come for steam / pc I'll be very happy. And the steam community is really big, maybe some games will become for steam just for taking some popularity

Pretty sure RECORE isn't even a windows exclusive? :o

I wonder if KI will come to steam.
Maybe KI was really only Win10 so that's why no steam?

Nope. Microsoft is too greedy to do it.

It all comes down to money, in the end.
If they see that selling their games on Steam (with Valve's 30% cut) makes them a bigger profit than selling on Windows Store by themselves, they will just do it.

i feel that the objective of the windows store is not just having a big profit now but to try and become what steam is now in a decade.

They already tried it with Games for Windows - Live, but we know how that ended for Microsoft...

Yes so this time they will not only do it for games they will make it like android and apple. (a hope it fails hard!)

Unlike every developer who sells their games on steam?

I assume you are remembering an article that misinterpreted what Phil said in an interview.
Phil said they microsoft will bring games to steam when it makes sense, when a game needs to grow an audience; Which in business language means "small indie tittles will go to steam while big games will remain in the windows store".
