Hi there!
I'm working on my first steam game and really appreciate any feedback. It will be released in a few months, so feel free to try the demo, wishlist or discuss.

may I ask, how many levels does it have?

Currently it's only 3 tutorial levels, but I want to have about 50 for release.
I use only 2 main colors, to hightlighy the duality
Never think about bosses before. Actually I even didn't have an idea, how it should look for puzzle platformer

The art looks nice, but as someone who participates in a lot of game jams, I think this concept isn't very original, I have seen it more times than I can count. Judging by trailer, it doesn't seem like you are taking this into a new direction. Are you planning any other gameplay features?

Sure, I want to add more features, that usually use puzzle platformers: boxes, enemies, keys, etc

way to go, great music!

the controls made my brain play tricks on me though... I´m just too old, I guess lol - using space to jump is way deep in my muscle memory ; )
have a wishlist, hope that helps. I wish you a successful launch !

Change shift :o the world -> shift (both)
Jump -> space

Perhaps make it rebindable, so people can choose whatever they want? 👀

Also, the game looks nice, good luck 👍

That's even better than my suggestion. :3

Thanks, but I just noticed Sir9 had already mentioned it so my post seems redundant now 🤪

There have been so many games where certain bindings weren't to my liking, but probably are for others. Makes me wonder why rebinding isn't a standard. Technically it shouldn't be a problem.

dunno - basically I think you´re good 😃
I just have that old school stuff (cursor keys - mvmt., space - jump) in the back of my head.

If it´s not too much programming-wise, maybe you could have free keybinding? but I really have no idea how much of an effort that would be ..
then again it also depends which direction the game will take:

  • straight puzzling, no time pressure. basically planning & finding your way through a labyrinth
  • more obstacles, interactive elements. maybe even enemies. that would pick up the pace in general I suppose

what comes to my mind; stick to A - D; left - right. put jump - switch on P - L or O - K on the other side of the keyboard for easy two-handed play ..?
(I´m on a QWERTZ layout FYI)

Looks very nice. This is a game i will enjoy. I hope there will be an option where you can configure the controls yourself. Like someone above also mentioned... using 'space' to jump is locked in my muscle memory. In your demo 'space' is bound to 'switch worlds' so I died many many times in the first level alone :)

Thanks for feedback!
Got all feedback about controls binding, so move that task from nice-to-have-features to must-have-features
