Unfortunately Steam doesn't do anything about the reports of scammers. Their all allowed to continue merrily along their way, and happily keep the games they've scammed.
I report anyways, in the possibly vain hope that one day they'll get sick of the sheer number of scammers and decide just maybe it isn't a good idea to sit idly by and ignore it.

the classic "oh i want to give it to a friend" scam which (luckily) ive already read about here was pulled on me. guy copied the dudes avatar and everything. i saw through it straight away and my kneejerk response was close the chat window, but then reopened it to tell the guy off. here is the chat log:

before he went offline i was on his (private) profile page and was halfway through making a complaint to steam. i sent the complaint moments after but when i tried to revisit the guys page it had changed to hidden. did my complaint get sent and does valve have the right and or will to do anything about scumbags like these?
