Borderlands 2 RU - What the fuck?

So I bought it today, noticed the note saying that it's Russian only, thought "Ah, I can get through another shitty translation, fine". Then my friend tells me that I won't be able to play with people from other regions and now I learn that people outside of Russia got screwed too (wth, I know that a lot of people speak Russian in Lithuania and Ukraine but not everybody does, ffs). And having to re-buy Season Passes, bullshit. Hope 1C will burn in hell and take their horrible support with them.

I feel sorry for you, guys. I wish everyone can play game on the language they want.

The language is one things, but really you can't play with other people. Stupid as hell

I'm from russia and i hate, that i will have to play with russians only :(
Why do we need these region restrictions? If u want to make this game region-locked, make this tradable/giftable to russians only! But how to make such a restriction?

Also, i'd like to play the english version of game , because localizations suck balls in russia.

1C website says that russian localization means only russian subtitles.

And... Those who were RIPPED OFF by 2K (or 1C, or whoever made this language crap) will not be able to play with people that have ROW version. Nope. ALSO, Season Pass is not going to work with RU version, we will have to rebuy it from 1C's website.

I logged in today and checked the store page. Notice: Purchases of Borderlands 2 made in Lithuania will be playable in Russian language only. While I agree that that's total bullshit, there's a way around it. I recommend you do what I did, get a refund and ask a friend from the UK or elsewhere that's not the "RU" zone to gift it for you. Atleast that worked for me, because in my purchases list it says Borderlands 2 Pre-Order ROW.

Using the two links in the original post you can see which version you have if you already loaded the key into Steam. Right click the game in your library, hit create desktop shortcut, then go and right click on the created shortcut and select properties.

The URL of the shortcut under the Web Document tab will show you the ID, so steam://rungameid/49520 would be listed for a normal copy. steam://rungameid/217490 would be listed for a Russian Only copy.
