Question about Far Cry 4 Season pass

Hi Guys,
Just wanted to confirm can I purchase season pass for UBI games on steam and use the keys on Uplay client.
Reason:
I have Farcry 4 activated on my Uplay account and season pass cost me less on steam. So, trying to save some money :-). Can I purchase it on steam and activate it on Uplay?

You can't purchase the season pass on Steam if you don't own the base game there.

Can you buy it as a gift though? Well you couldn't activate it anyways since you don't own the main game on steam.

Yes, it's possible to buy DLCs as gifts, even if you don't own the base game.
But still, whoever wants to use them must own the base game on Steam, as they don't provide a key.

Yeah but you can't activate CD keys anyways if you don't own the main game.

I guess there are keys for some games, for UBI i read in a few discussions that it can be done, but not sure

It's the other way around, there're a few Ubisoft games that, even if bought from their store, need to be activated on Steam.

bummer, I don't want to spend money again on steam for a game I already have. Guess I have to pay a higher price on Uplay

uplay & steam versions are separate and incompatible for all ubisoft games.
