The "best" number is the number which best fits the place wherein a number is required. In other words, there is no "best" number, only accurate and inaccurate numbers depending on the problem, formula, or locus of applicability. The only way a number could be "best" is if it fits, relatively, to that which it applies in a manner which best corresponds with reality.
Sorry, I don't subscribe to numerological bullshit. I may have favorite or preferred numbers which I value as having greater meaning or significance, but that is because I am human and prone to superstition.

People also still argue about whether the world is flat, but that doesn't mean they're right.
Maybe there is a "best" number, but I've thus far seen no reason nor evidence to justify such bold claims, nor do I believe it's possible to determine—let alone ascertain—the right answer, nor do I believe we as a species would be able to establish the veracity of said answer given the current conceptual and scientific framework upon which we depend. In other, less complicated, words: There might be a "best" number, but I am not convinced that there is or could be, and I do not believe we do or could know the "best" number, or even know that we know, given the current limitations of human knowledge and the current state of human reason.
Given the current evidence, however, I'm inclined to give a tentative and skeptical "no" to the question of whether there is a "best" number, and thus a "none" to which number is (or should be considered) "best."

I really just made this for the GA, all the "Best number" deal is pure subjective and, as you said, supersticiousness, I agree that there isn't a "Best number", and that there are no basis to say "This number is the best".

I suppose that's fair enough. I just assumed that the addition of "therefore best" implied that the number must be both my favorite and the best number by virtue of being my favorite. My fault for misinterpreting the question, then, though I don't think my answer would have significantly differed anyway.
Believe it or not, people hate my overly critical, analytical, and serious approach to things. I'm surprised you don't.
