As much as I am happy the goal hit 1.5 Million members, I think it's a pretty shitty move to bump up the free Payday: The Heist giveaway by 2 days after going on and on for months about, "Marking your calendar for the 18th". I have a few buddies who joined the group to help out and to get free copies of the original Payday, but all 4 of them will be out of town between Wednesday and Friday. They planed their trip to make sure they would all be back by Saturday the 18th so they could all download Payday and play it. I really hope they give it away on the 18th as well, as originally planed.

I guess it's some issue Valve made, like not allowing free-game to be put in the middle of sale. Smart move, to tell truth, as nobody will buy it on first day if they will know it will be free in 2 days, while people who might be late will think "my friend has it, I'll buy it then".

Looks like it should be available now, but I'm not seeing way to get it on the Steam store. The block that used to have the regular price is just gone now. I'm only getting purchase options for the DLCs. I'm also getting 503 errors though, so their servers might be overloaded at the moment. Maybe it will resolve itself shortly?

I just got it. There should be an install button where the normal price would usually be. Also, it looks like you don't have to actually install the game to get it. After I clicked the install button, it gave me a success message and I can see the game in my list of games and my account order history as complimentary.

Just as a recap for new readers, the game is free now (10 AM PST). Just keep refreshing till you get the install button that will link you to a success message, no download needed. Works in browser as well.

So Overkill promised that if we can get 1,5 million members into the official PAYDAY 2 Steam Group, the owners of PAYDAY 2 will get sweet rewards! For example if we reach 1 million, we get a gun and a bundle ( content not known ) for FREE! If we get 1 150 000 members, we finally be able to release old Hoxton from his cell! If we get 1,2 million members OLD HOXTON will be playable for FREE! Site to keep count of members: CrimeFEST. So tell your friends about this promotion, because they just have to enter one more group, which they can forget about afterwards! The owners of PAYDAY 2 can get a truckload o goodies for absolutely NO COST, but if we reach 1,050,000 members, on the 18th of October EVERY MEMBER OF THE GROUP, will be able to download PAYDAY The Heist for FREE! Q: I missed some of the tiers. How can I get them?
A: If you own PAYDAY 2, AND you are the member of the group, the items will be in the game, when you launch it. You can find the Golden AK, the Brass knuckles, The judge Gun and money melee bundle in the inventory (You have to buy them for ingame money)

A: They haven't added them to the game yet.
