Hey guys,

I am looking for a relatively cheap ( 20-40ish dollar range) headset that sounds great, has a clear mic, and are comfortable to wear for a few hours with glasses on. Right now I am between the SteelSeries 5hv3 and the Logitech G230. If anyone knows of a headset besides these two that are cheap and great then please let me know! Also, if you have any knowledge on these two headsets please try to sway me to one side or the other!

Thanks!

It's hard to go wrong with Logitech headsets. The G230 is a solid choice.

Also: ?!?!?!?!?!?!

I'm fairly happy with my Corsair Vengeance 1300 headset. I'm sure you could pick that up for real cheap, $30 or even less. Though you need a decent sound card or AMP/DAC for this headset. Has really good treble but the bass is a bit lacking if you don't have the power to drive them.

Was looking for a nice (budget-ish) headset as well recently and ended up buying a Turtle Beach Ear Force P11.

So far I'm really happy with it. You gotta be careful with the wire though, it's LONG, so it "breaks" easily (according to some reviews I've read). But yeah, so far no problems at all and the sound is pretty good.

Did you really need that many question and exclamation marks?

PLANTRONICS Gamecom 780 is a great headset for the money. I've been using it for 6 months now and got nothing but good things to say, build is sturdy and the sound awesome, not to mention you get dolby surrond for that price as well.

I also use this headset and i like it a lot, especially for it's price.
I'm not sure if it's confortable with glasses but withtout glasses i can use it for hours(6-12) without getting tired of them.

You won't find a good headset with a better sound than headphones at the same price. I recommend you to buy the Superlux HD681 Evo Headphones (sound quality just like the ones for $200, read reviews). In addition to that you should buy a relatively good cheap microphone with a good rating, simple. I'll never ever buy a headset again.

I got that a few months ago and the headband broke very recently. It's still great...just it looks weird as hell sometimes when the headband just happens to stick out when I put it on. XD

I mean, i would if I could, but I can't so I won't..... lol. I'm trying to get a decent and cheap headset so that hopefully I can save up for a good quality one in the future. I have to pay for college and still try to be a gamer so I'm pretty strapped for cash haha. thanks for the suggestion though!

Any particular reason why? A Superlux HD6xx + decent mic will be in the $40-50 range and it'll be better than 95% of the headsets on the market.

Oh.... i googled the headphones and for some reason they showed up as 80 dollars, and that was too much for me. i don't know what happened there lol.

This is pretty much how this thread will go until it's buried: everyone will exactly recommend what he/she has, regardless of actually having decent experience with headphones, headsets and audio in general.
You want a great microphone, super-duper sound and everything else for 30 bucks, right? Well, you won't get it, at least in terms of how far it goes. The price range you're in will get you something... But just something. Nothing great, anyhow.

Anyway, the Bitfenix Flo is actually pretty decent for it's price (and I wouldn't go lower than that) - it's based off the Superlux HD661, detachable cables, not too high of headband and cup pressure. Wipes the floor with the usual corsair/tritton/logitech etc. etc. etc. crap.
Two very interesting ones are the Qh-85 and the Qh-90 (one's closed-back, one's not) - they're based off the Takstar Hi-2050 and Takstar Hi Pro80 Headphones, which are an absolute bargain. You can read up on those on Head-Fi, if you want.

I use an RCA set headphones. They were $10 at a local family dollar. I've had them for months and they have survived my torture, and sounds great to me. (I've never owned any headphones that were expensive, so I can't compare to that.) As far as the mic quality, it's a solid mic that I use for my youtube video gaming and it sounds like good quality to me. (If you want to look at them on Amazon, just search RCA TVP200FDR.)

Pro-tip, just get nice headphones and a mic, hell these will destroy any 100+ dollar headset, then just get a 8 dollar mic, don't fall for the shitty gamer gear crap....

There under 30 bucks.
