I really can't understand some of you people...i see some GA's (ex GTA V) which costs 60 points right?!
And some people keep nagging about it being fake or not. Well if its fake you just lost 60points. Yeah alright...it's something that will be filled up tomorrow or some hours later...it's something you didn't pay for, so some of you people should really start to understand that those points are not like your paypal money.Worst thing is that i saw someone telling "blacklisted until proven sent/recieved" just what the F?!! You should give someone a freaking chance.it costs some points and not your life to complain about. The reason i made this topic is coz i got tired of seeing all these same pointless conversations. i don't really expect some of you to get my point. but i''l be happy if even one person at least feels like me. Thanks for your time (Let the hate begin......

I don't blacklist people who create "fake" giveaways cos they probably don't even know what they're doing but everybody has a right to do whatever they wish so I don't really care about it.

I agree but what can you do? Following your thought it's just a blacklist, nobody really hurts of that - blacklist does shit to you, even if I'd blacklist you, would it change your life in any way? Because you can't win a... game?

agree I saw the assasins creed giveway done twice (yesterday I think) and the user I believe thought they could gift the item in their own library - not sure if they were telling the truth or not - but everyone makes mistakes :) - me more than most sometimes, so no BL for that

A big problem is people sometimes don't understand how the site works and think they are asking for games rather than offering to give games away. So big fake giveaways exist because some poor soul wants a game just as much as everyone else.

it happens all the time, alot of people come in here thinking they can just create a ga and the winner will send them the gift instead of the other way around. where that logic comes from, i do not know, but it happens more then i'd like to see..

as for blacklisting.. nah.. not me personally for that... people are new or made a mistake.. to make a ga just for points though.... thats a new one to me.

Funny thing is, there seem to be a high number of people who do not know that the points are allocated on the basis of the amount of giveaways made, they think that they have lost them, or that they are on a timer and it's taking ages etc... - at first I was confused, but I read the FAQ and it made sense - do some people actually know this and make fake giveaways to boost points?

i always thought it was possible, but never saw heard of a case where people actually did so. most the time i see a AAA game i don't own and its not from a alrdy leveled user, i first check their registration date.. at least 75% of the time they had just registered that day or least of all within that month.. if i feel there still may be a chance they actually are going to gift it, i check inventory and library.

most of the time if they do not even have it in their library i assume they are actually wanting to win it and not gift it.. there are always exceptions ofc though.. i have seen fo4 being given by a day old user who did not even have it in their library, but certainly did have it in their gift inventory.. so it does and can happen still, just rare.

I don't care, I'm always swimming in 300 points anyway
though for a while when I had just joined and entered everything I could, 60 points would have been a big deal lol

I understand your point but no one needs to give "a chance" to anyone who has registered that day and is giving away AAA game whatever, since 99% of the time it's someone who thinks they're getting a game instead of giving one away. Someone who can comprehend the rules but chooses not to read them, and someone who can't comprehend them at all but doesn't bother to put them through a translator, isn't necessarily worthy of empathy. If someone wants to have that for them, that's fine. But this is the internet. You RTFM or you GTFO. It's not an unreasonable policy and I have been a member of lots of sites that ban you for not reading (and by extension not understanding) the rules. That this site is more lax in that regard is fine with me but no individual member has to have a soft spot for people ignorant of the rules.

Edit: to be clear, I don't condone being abusive or acting entitled. But I have no problem with someone being skeptical, pointing out that a rule is being broken, or even silently deciding to blacklist a person that demonstrates that they don't know or care how the site works.

If a user perceives (as I do) that most same-day registrants who give away an AAA game like Call of Battlefield: Honor intend to receive a game instead of give it, then it is reasonable for that user to be skeptical. The user need not give a chance for the user to prove themselves legitimate. They may, of course, be skeptical to their own detriment.

Where I'm from, most people walk by people standing on the street who call out to them without a word or a sometimes not even a glance. This is because the majority of the time that happens, they want something from you. You owe them no consideration as you have made up your mind beforehand (oh god I am describing pre-judgment--prejudice).

That reminds me of that time I saw a university student with a bit of money poking at least halfway out of her pocket as she walked with her friend. True to form, she ignored my attempts to get her attention and failed even to acknowledge me.

Forgetting appropriate etiquette for my locale for a brief moment, I moved closer so I could tap her on the shoulder. She screamed and ran.

Now if her money had fallen out of her pocket, lost to her forever, that would have been to her detriment. But she had every right to act like I didn't exist. I wasn't owed a chance.

Oh, unrelated, but I was going to friend request you one time but I got scared. I became sure that you move from city to city every couple years, changing your name and appearance, marrying into wealthy families before poisoning your spouse, collecting the life insurance, and disappearing to a new city.

I realize this is irrational, but it's also exciting--like being a spy, or a bodyguard for someone people really hate.

What I'm saying is, please tell me that you are a black widow.

One always has the option to enter a giveaway or not and some giveaways are so obviously duds.

Lucky that points replenish over time.

And don't worry because nagging is the favorite pass time of some SG users so that's old news. ^^

If someone understands the site and makes a giveaway just to take some attention not to deliver i think blacklisting him/her is an okay reason. Not too hard to understand. Also that person doesn't read the comments most of the time or just doesn't reply any of it. When they do they are pretty funny. One of them once said it he has GTA V key for steam. I don't think nobody cares about 60p at that moment but to troll people's wishlist with a fake giveaway. Usually a person who doesn't understand how site works deletes the giveaway in a day or two. But the other kind of people ends up leaving SG or delete it in last hour. So i am not showing any sympathy to that kind. They are just another rule breaker for me. But i don't blacklist them as i don't make level 0 giveaways.

Most of these comments on these kinds of GAs are merely to inform the user and prevent him from getting suspended.

I don't really like blacklisting people. Like it's just mean and you make the person feel bad about themselfs. I once made a giveaway of a free key because i didn't know the rules. And got 30 blacklists.

And some people keep nagging about it being fake or not.

It's worth noting that's against site guidelines (quoted below), and previous user and staff comments have clarified (example) that making such accusations can actually lead to a short suspension if you're caught doing it. Not that you can't make comments that indicate your skepticism and to caution other entrants [eg, "Welcome to the site! Thanks for such a generous first giveaway! If you haven't read site guidelines yet, you can find them (here)!], but outright attacks on their legitimacy haven't been viewed very well in the past.

As well they oughtn't, it's entirely uncouth behavior. :X

Please refrain from posting any comments accusing the giveaway creator of posting a fake giveaway, and only create a support ticket if the giveaway is fake beyond a reasonable doubt.
