Hello everyone! I've noticed that Steam has been having "Daily Deals" lately. Today's "Daily Deal" is for the Binding of Isaac for 99 cents. I currently have $1.25 in my Steam Wallet, so I ask: should I buy it? Is it worth it? I've heard that the Wrath of the Lamb DLC is also good, but this Daily Deal doesn't come with it. Is the DLC integral to my enjoyment of the game? Should I just hold off on buying this game and wait with the hopes that another good game will end up on the Daily Deal for 99 cents in the near future? So many questions! So little time!

If you dont have it yes, i enjoyed it very much, for the price you should buy it.

as for the dlc i dont think the dlc really improves upon the game a great deal.

The DLC introduces a TON of new content. I wouldn't say it's exactly "integral", but it definitely makes it a lot more fun.

too bad its automatically applied and overwrites your ability to just play vanilla. it should be an option when you start the game. (or did they fix that since i last paid attention?)

You can now choose what DLC will be installed along with your game. (Not sure if only part of Steam beta or already in the regular release though)

However it doesn't overwrite your ability to play chocolate.

Get it as an item to your inventory and wait. It might be in one of Humble Re-Bundle with dlc.

That's a really good idea! But how do I purchase it as an inventory item without having it add to my library automatically?

Click "purchase as gift", it'll put it in your inventory.

Steam store should offer the "purchase as a gift" option wether you have the game or not

Seeing how it already was in two Humble Bundles, it's 99% sure it's going to appear again. Only question is price...

Yes. Base game is solid by itself. DLC is awesome but not required, it adds a lot of extra content but doesn't really change the core gameplay mechanics

Get it. It's an awesome rogue-like game, and once you've mastered the game a little, you can go ahead and buy the DLC which adds quite a layer of difficulty and a ton of content. It's one of my favorite games of all time, and I've played more than an hundred hours. Didn't expect it to be so good, but it is crazy-addictive.

The DLC is on sale too for 59 cents.

Yes, I highly recommend it! I love that it is so random, as sometimes you will have great runs, other times you'll smash your keyboard in anger when you loose to some annoying enemy. I have 44 hours clocked on the game so far ^^

You can check the demo to see if you like it.
And as a big fan of this game, all I can say is that it's totally worth the price. Even without sale. I've spent over 150h playing it - and I still want more.

Definitely. I'm normally pretty tightfisted when it comes to my cash, but even before it started going on sale the game was worth it. The art style might put you off if you're sick of seeing that style cropping up everywhere, but the replayability alone is great. Just remember not to rush too much in the game, and try to preserve your hitpoints, and you'll go far. Well, at least once you've worked out a few base things about the game :>

Yes, also get the DLC too, but keep the DLC in inventory to familiarize with the game before, as Bobofatt said.

Even i don't like Binding of Isaac, i can recommend it. Gameplay is fun.

I definitly recomend getting the game and the DLC. The DLC is not needed but it adds a lot of content especially at the end game. I also would like to point out that the DLC makes the game harder however steam offers the possibility to deactivate the DLC (right click -> propestires-> DLC).
The game is a roquelike with twin stick shooter gameplay, you several levels; each level gives an item which upgrades your char and you have to defeat the boss to clear it. If you think you will like it, the game + the DLC gives around 100h of content.
I hope my wall oftext helped you!

If you trade for them, you can get the base game and the DLC for about a dollar. Also, don't worry about being unable to play the vanilla version after activating the DLC as Steam now has the ability to disable DLC. In case that doesn't work, there's also this.

The answer to getting the Binding of Isaac is always yes, even at "full price". This is one of those rare games where the value is "X hours per dollar", instead of "X dollars per hour". Personally, I have nearly 150 hours clocked in, and got it for only $2.50.

As a bonus, when the game gets its remake, "Binding of Isaac: Rebirth", Steam owners of the original will be getting a discount as confirmed by the creator, Edmund
