Here is my second puzzle :) Once again, it's newbie friendly - no special software/knowledge is required to get to the giveaway.

I got the idea for this puzzle some time ago when I was solving one NB264's puzzle. While the format of the puzzle is identical, the solution is different, of course. It’s a one-step puzzle. It’s not a brute force puzzle.

Standard puzzle rules - do not share hints nor the giveaway link.
No CV required.
The game I'm giving away has about 85 critics’ and users’ metascore. Here is a hint about which game I'm giving away(this image is not part of the puzzle).
Giveaway ends in Tuesday(you have more than 4 days).

For puzzle newbies:

You have to solve the puzzle and you will get the 5 correct characters. Then you have to append them to http://www.steamgifts.com/giveaway/ and that’s it :)
Note that the giveaway link can include both numbers and letters and they are case sensitive. Example of a giveaway link(from my previous puzzle): http://www.steamgifts.com/giveaway/PGcXo/.

The solution:

The key to solving this puzzle is to write down these somewhat random characters on a piece of paper or in notepad. Then you can easily notice that most characters appear more than once. However, removing all redundant characters gives you 3 characters only. At this point, you are very close to solving this puzzle.

If you look further, you can notice that not just single characters are repeating, but in fact 2-character mirrored patterns – for example: a 1 – 1 a, Xs – sX. And that’s the solution – removing all redundant 2-character patterns will give you the 5-character giveaway code.

After that you just have to “solve” the order. The order was not designed as a puzzle step, but it seems some people had problems with it. As I said in the thread, you don’t have to rearrange characters and you have to use the most simplified possible order. You can read them in a few simple ways(left-right, right-left, top-down, bottom-up) so as a last resort you could have brute-forced in a few guesses. But if you pay a closer look you will notice that there is just one character in each row so you can narrow this to either top-down or bottom-up. Top-down it is :)

It may sound a bit complicated, but maybe I just overexplained.

So by definition, once we get what you did there, the letters will be in the right order.

The original puzzle also looked like brute force, but it wasn't ;) Same story here :) It may be possible to brute force it, but there is also another (in my opinion, way simpler) solution.

I can't say much without spoiling, but you don't have to rearrange the characters. Use the KISS principle.

I've never said that the puzzle is obvious. What I do say is that it doesn't require previous knowledge/experience or software and there are already first-time solvers who kinda prove that. After all, it's a puzzle so the difficulty level is defferent for any particular person.

I also said that the characters order is obvious, in my opinion. That is, once you solve it and you get the correct 5 characters, you don't have to rearrange them. Though, I guess that this "obvious" thingie may vary from person to person.
