I betcha that Half Life 3 will be released just one day out of the blue with no press release or nothing. GABEN will turn round and say, "...and to round off all those new features we've decided to add some new hats. Anyway that's enough for this update. Oh and I forgot, nothing special but yeah guys, here's Half Life 3." On that day the internet will break and the end times will begin. It will be glorious!

I believe that the world will be invaded by headcrabs and a real Gordon Freeman will show up and save us ALL!

Despite what people claim, Half Life 3 will not be coming out with Source 2. It will be coming out when the Source 3 Engine comes out and GABEN is officially and undeniably declared God EMPRAH of Mankind!

I actually made a guess way-back-when that any new Halflife titles would be waiting on a new engine before it gets developed/announced. As cool as source is, it does show it's age a little. At least, it shows enough age that it would make a title with as much gravity as HL3 seem bad on release. They want it to shine, so for that they new tech at the foundation level.

HL1 launched with GoldSource, HL2 launched with Source, and I'm sure HL3 will launch with Source2. HL seems to be their way of showing off their engines.
