Finally something neat available in my region. I can help people buy as long as I get exact paypal + paypal fees in return (basically I don't earn anything). Oh and if you are feeling nice, you could throw me a 'bone' too (tips?).

I personally don't care about Dawnguard, at least not yet. I'm waiting to see if they fixed the "non-essential NPC genocide" side effects of a certain stage in the storyline, among other things.

But I know some people have been salivating at the idea, so I dropped it in the forums.

Nah, I was surprised too, I'm used to way cheaper DLCs :P But since I love Skyrim and since I'm a sucker I'll buy it anyway when I can xP

1 decade ago

For $20, I can wait until it's discounted. Not to mention, I still haven't finished the base game yet. Too much time spent modding it. :P

1 decade ago
Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I knew it would be 20$ since the xbox live price was 1600

1 decade ago
Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Like I thought about it and I would buy it for anything cheaper 5,10 or $15. But $20 for a mod that's in beta? NO

1 decade ago
Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I 100% agree, $19.99 for add on content for a game that is constantly on sale for $29.99 and from what I have been told by my friends who played it on 360, it isn't all that much more content.

1 decade ago
Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

It... has only ever been on sale for 50% off since the summer sale. I wouldn't expect it to go on sale for 50% off many more times before the winter sale, which is a good three months from now, at least.

1 decade ago
Permalink

Actually.... gamestop digital has had it on sale like 10+ times already... including before summer sale..

Oblivions DLC's were $20 each as well and they were WORTH IT. They were more than just DLC they were EXPANSIONS (rare to find these days) so I'm hoping Dawnguard is the same and not just a rip off like most other DLC these days.

1 decade ago
Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

It adds an extra quest chain, a couple of variant perk trees, and a few new zones (and a few other things). It's reasonably close to an expansion these days.

1 decade ago
Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I have heard about ~30 hours of extra content. But haven't played it personally yet so... shrug

1 decade ago
Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Shivering Isles was $30, officially an expansion and sold as such. The other small DLC was 2 or 3 dollars each, aside from Knights of the Nine which was $10 (which seems to be similar in scope to Dawnguard).

Also, apparently the vampire lord is pretty lame to play as and there's just two new areas to explore. But hey, at least those 20 bucks get you a crossbow (which requires a really high archery skill if you intend to actually hit something with it)!

1 decade ago
Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Luckily I have over 90 archery skill :D

1 decade ago
Permalink

I don't know. $20 it's too much for a DLC

It's even a bad expansion, it reuses some of the DLC that people already bought.

Bethesda, the developers who brought you horse armor for $2.49.

Comment has been collapsed.

Okay, hold on a sec. Need to get this out.

WHAT THE FUCK, BETHESDA.

How the FUCK are you a successful company? Until now, you don't even confirm that Dawnguard will EVER exist outside of the Xbox and now you throw it up on Steam without giving even a day of notice? Why are you trying to make it difficult to GIVE YOU MONEY? I WAS interested until I decided that it's clearly not coming out for a while, so I can buy something else. I WAS interested until you still charged full price for a month old, barely noticeable expansion which has pretty much the same bugs the Xbox version did (apparently more in the PS3 version). You couldn't use that MONTH you spent denying its existence to do some more fucking QA? Fuck this, I'm buying something else with my cash. You can wait until the sale. My archer isn't that desperate for a crossbow. Besides, it's easily fucking modded in anyway.

I'm not at all going to argue with the thrust of your argument, but Bethesda's official line regarding Dawnguard on PC and PS3, after the 360 launch date was announced, was that it would come to the other platforms at a future date that they did not announce at the time.

But otherwise, yes. This is an even more boneheaded move than horse armor.

1 decade ago
Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Actually, no, that was Microsoft's line. They said it was an exclusive for 30 days. Bethesda said "exclusive to Xbox" with nothing else.

I don't have Skyrim but I wouldn't be keen on paying 20€ for more bugs. Also, I don't see what's the point in new factions, if the world doesn't recognize you being in any of them. You still get the same dialog when you're the arch mage or any other leader of a faction.

I would wait until the price lowers (probably not going to happen) or the winter sale/thanksgiving sale.
The $30 price tag sounds like a really good deal. I paid a little over $45 for my skyrim during the 2011 winter sale.
