I personally liked it a lot and took tons of screenshot because of visual improvements. Found few minor bugs unlike some people complaining about bug fest. What are your thoughts? Here are some screenshots I took;

Did you like remastered version of Skyrim?

Yes.

It's ok as a free addition but it will be better when the mods are compatible with it.

I just finished the intro (up until you reach Riverwood) and it's quite nice. The fog and shadows are certainly improved (compared to unmodded Skyrim) and god rays are a nice touch. It's not a whole new version of the game, but I don't mind at all it for free. 40 € for a five year old game with all DLC and a few new effects might be a bit much if you buy it though.

I agree with this, and have steady 60 fps on very high BUT for some reason achievements are not unlocking for me (don't have any mods or anything).

wanted to play it thru again anyways, so yeah i'm happy with it.. though i haven't really gotten very far into it yet to see about bugs, so far only going off graphical diff between non-modded versions.

Yep. You only get this new version for free if you own all the dlcs which i never bothered with 'cause of mods.

Yeah I only just bought the DLC's yesterday. Worth the upgrade price for 64 bit.

I absolutely love it! So much smoother and faster experience - Can't wait till the mod selection gets to the state of original. + For the console owners this is truly amazing. They finally get the Skyrim they deserve.

Is it a patch over the old version or a totally new installation?
I mean can I delete the old one and keep only the new?

yes its considered a game on its own. don't know if you can delete the LE tho.

I heard mods aren't working right now because the changes Bethesda did to the game (the 64 bits change especifically)

I need a better graphic card but.. At least i can play it good and smooth, wich is something. For now, being new to skyrim legendary edition and mods, will keep the legendary edition on my computer and will play it but this remaster definitively looks better and runs good. Hope bethesda patch it and improves optimization, it may be a remasterization, but its a game from 2011, for goods sake.

It's basically nothing itself.

The point is the x64 supported mods. The release dat of Special Edition meant nothing to me as the "GOOD" mods will come a few weeks after it.

Remember, this was done in x32. We'll have much smoother animations and everything with x64.

downloading now. with only 4 gb of ram i doubt i will be able to play it well... so yeah will stick to the LE with 200 and so mods active :U'

let's just hope to see skytweak compatible with this installation. that mod only makes half of the mods in the skyrim nexus totally useless.

Tried it on my 4gb of ram potato. It works kind of well until it randomly shuts down. Got tired of trying after the 3rd time.

damn. even with the unofficial fixes? ctd might not be ram related. if so then there isn't much one can do :/ maybe in the future a tool like ordenador to reduce textures size will come out. this might give a big cut to the spec requirements

I didn't understand half of what you wrote, but please tell me more about those unofficial fixes.

the unofficial patch can be found in the nexus here with all the instruction you need to install it. note that it is still in a early stage so more update will probably come. as its somehow tedious to update a master mod such as that (meaning that many other mod will use it a base asset. if you update it, all other mods attached to it might get screwed if not updated, along with your save data) with an ongoing playthrough, for now its advisable to play with it only for give its creator some feedback to make it better

also probably its just a matter of days untill some ini file tweaks are known to the public (the two .ini files can be found in /documents/mygames/skyrim (i think). don't mess with nothing if you don't know what you are doing. the wrong edits might melt down your machine (not joking :v)

if you are interested to modding the LE edition i suggest you to start here, and then here

thanks for all the info, anyway I think I'll wait for official fixes to see if I can run it, or if not, I'll just replay the good old vanila skyrim

your choice. i can say you will miss a lot of good stuff. things that change drastically the skyrim experience and not only graphic and visual related stuff. sure learning and all is very time consuming but in the end is worth the effort.

I'd comment on the message of pic 4, but I honestly don't know what point you're trying to make.

I do still have some criticisms with it. The fading is really weird. The faces should be fully opaque, maybe some transparency on the edges. I'm not sure what you're going for, but shouldn't those be speech bubbles instead of thought bubbles?

Its meh still need some graphic mods to make it look good.

For me it just looks wrong but that could be me...

The new lighting, rain occlusion, distant obejcts, and a small handful of retextures were nice, but.... It still lacked in some aspects with textures and models, grass render distance is still pretty limited, and the performance changes based on what's been done are sorta crummy imo. If I set the game to lowest possible settings (with god rays and stuff disabled), I get worse fps then I do on the original skyrim heavily modded with high res textures for lanscape, armors, buildings, etc etc, along with mods that add hundreds if not thousands more npcs throughout cities and the wilderness, more monsters, and so on... Thus I'm not very happy with the performance of the special edition. In time I'll get to optimizing it, but right now I could care less. Will wait for good mods to be released.
