A recent Humble Bundle gave spare copies, but they expire on the 9th, and now a bunch of idiots are trying to give them away while not thinking of what happens when the winner has an expired gift link and has to mark Not Received.

The Insurgency keys are expiring today (for me at least) so people are getting rid of theirs

Aww If only I knew a few days earlier, I dropped the rest of my Insurgency keys a few days ago in that huge thread

So I have a question...I keep up with many things on this site but Insurgency hasn't been one of them and doing a search for insurgency brings up a whole lot of posts.
So if someone could be kind enough to answer here, I'm just curious why its not been taken off the giveaway list. Its free right because of other purchases or something like that. I use SG+ so filtered it out long ago since its not my kind of game but am on my phone now before going to bed and this giveaway has taken over. I guess I just don't understand why its possible to make a giveaway for a game that has so many copies available when any other time a game is free, its removed. Is it solely because of expiration?
Again, just curious so thanks in advance.

it is not free - you have to purchase bundle to get extra keys. If it was "3 copies free for anyone" it would be removed. As it is it's like Tier 1 of a bundle has games X,Y,Z and 4 copies of Insurgency. But you still have to pay for it something nonetheless.
Game needs to be free/exploitable to get removed, not just give many copies for cheap price.

Makes sense, thanks.
So last question, all these giveaways now, is it due to people buying the bundle at the last minute or people who held onto the keys the whole time and now looking to give away?
I'm sure its a whole lot of factors probably and maybe its just me, but its quite odd to see this.

they probably tried to trade for a ref or two (if not more). these gibways are the ones they couldn't trade. or maybe they simply forgot about it and the email from humble bundle reminded them. "If you still have extra copies of Insurgency to share, they will expire at 11 a.m. Pacific time on December 9, 2014, so make sure to share them ASAP!"

i'll just repeat what others said because i'm bored.
3 titles + 3 more copies of one of those + 1 unlockable game = 7 games in $1 tier. indieroyale mystery 2 bundle had 10 games for 99 cents just a few days ago. i don't think this is any different.

There's nothing wrong with dropping them at the last minute... however it's quite risky doing it in a giveaway since the link could actually expire before the winner has the chance to activate it.

i guess they meant giveaways since the op is about insurgency giveaways.
