The e-mails sent by Steam depends on the gifter's language. If s/he's using German as Steam's language, Steam will send you the mails in German.

It's most likely the notification that he has sent you a gift copy to your email.
This mail is always in the language of the sender.

Hi !
So I've won a giveaway yesterday and just received a weird e-mail. It's apparently an e-mail from steam in german (the language of the giver) saying that I've won the giveaway on steamgifts. I didn't knew steam was sending mails for that and I have some doubts about the authenticity of it. It doesnt gives any key or what but I might understand that the links points to a kind of gift reception or something..
So I've never heard or see anything like that from a giveway won and didn't go to the links, and would like to know your review.
