Hey guys. I just gifted away 5 bundle games. Naturally my contributor value has stayed as it was, and I've read and re-read the bundle key value explanations but I just don't. understand it. at all.

How do I increase my value? Will I ever receive contributor value for those games? Is there something I've missed?

Basically I'm really bad at maths and figures so all this value calculation has literally evaded me.

Please help :S

You can increase your bundle limit by gifting non-bundle games.

You will receive the full value if you give non-bundled value up to 5x of your bundled value, I think.

5x?!

Holy crap, I thought you just had to give away $30 of non-bundled stuff and then your bundled contrib would keep rising...

MaxBundleValue = (NonBundleValue * 0.2) + $30

In your case,
MaxBundleValue = ($0 * 0.2) + $30
MaxBundleValue = $0 + $30
MaxBundleValue = $30

Ok,i will try to be clear

You have basically 2 pools of contributor value (CV). Whitelisted CV (games that are not on the bundle list) and bundled CV (games on the bundle list). Whitelisted CV always counts 100%. So $100 in whitelisted CV is always $100. Bundled CV is different. $25 get whitelisted,the rest is in the bundled pool. Your bundled CV can maximum be of 20% of the whitelisted CV.

That means for example:

$150 whitelisted, $150 bundled. CV would be: 150(whitelisted) + 25 (whitelisted bundle) + 20% of 175 (total whitelisted)[=35] = $210. $90 of your bundled CV would be unused.

Simple answer: the value of those bundle games is locked away. Gift non bundle games and you'll get the value of the non bundle games plus some of the value of the bundle games will be 'unlocked' and added to you overall value.

Hmm so basically if I gift non bundle games, it'll slowly grant me my bundled CV too. The more non-bundle games I give, the more of my previous bundled CV I'll get too?

Precisely.

After the first $30 (that is "free for all"), you get 1$ from bundles for every $5 non-bundle games you gifted.

Let's suppose you just gifted $50 worth bundle games. You will see $30 contribution. If you want those remaining $20 to count, you will have to contribute $100 in non-bundle games.

Now let's say you buy a $25 non bundle game, and gift it. You will have $30+$25+$5=$60
That is, your previous value ($30), plus the new game you gifted ($25), plus 1$ for every 5$ the last game is worth (5$).

So another question is, is there any way to see my locked Contributor Value?

Yep. Find the games that aren't in bundles. The point value of these games then gets subtracted from your contrib value. The rest is from the bundles. Now work out 1/5 th the value of the non bundle games and subtract that.

Add together all bundle games values and find the difference between the two numbers you just calculated. That's what is locked away.

you can increase your bundle game value by gifting non bundled games.

the first 25cv counts as non bundled, but after that its 20% of non bundled.

the first 25cv from bundled games counts as normal, the rest is 20% of non bundled.
so max you can reach with bundles alone is 30
(25+(25*.2)=30

you would need 280 total non bundled cv to use all your bundled cv. You would need to add 255 non bundled cv to use all of what you've already gifted.

8+10+10+7+10+3+3+20+10=81
81-25=56
right now you get 30 because
25+(25.2)=30. 25 .2 is the most bundled cv that you can use and 56>=5 so you get the 5

56/.2=280
280-25=255
so adding 255 non bundled cv you have 280 cv non bundled, 56 bundled

255+25+(280 .2) = 280+56=336
280
.2=20% of 280=56.
56>=56 so you get all of it.

add 255 non bundled cv, get a total of 336cv and use all your bundled cv.

(hope that helped explain it(and really hope I didn't make a stupid typo)
