Because people in America care about it? And they buy more games than anyone else, so it makes sense for stores to celebrate events they like.

Halloween is just such a "everywhere you look" kind of thing for all of October in North America. Much more so than other holidays.

Yeah, that's what I meant. When people say "America", they usually mean the United States of AMERICA because no other countries have the word "America" in their name. (Also, the USA is the superpower and all that, so it's kinda obvious). I guess I meant Canada too but there really isn't any difference between the two beyond the name of the country.

Here in the UK, we don't really celebrate it like they do in NA, but there's still some stuff for children (especially in Scotland).

I never understood how people get confused when someone says America. I've never heard anyone say American to refer to the continents except for in the titles of organizations and special events like the Pan-American Games or something.

Newsflash: Valve? American company. Steam? American product. So, really, what you care about, or do not care about in Europe is really, really irrelevant. I've never understand why Europeans seem to think American companies should or should not do things, based on what the EU thinks.

Yeah, I think we stole the tradition from Americans during WWII when there were millions of American troops stationed here. I'm fine with it though, since candy isn't something anyone could ever be upset with.

EDIT: Last year, it started on 27th October, which was the Thursday.

This means, the halloween sales start on 1st November, which is the next Thursday.

Doubt it personally. Will be funny to have a Halloween sale after Halloween, lol.

Either Monday after weekend sale/Tuesday during midweek sale, or probably no themed sale at all.
