Just asking randomly ... do you guise still use SIH?

Why i ask:
http://steamcommunity.com/groups/SteamInventoryHelper#announcements
https://www.reddit.com/r/Steam/comments/4j4wbw/vplghost_creator_of_the_steam_inventory_helper/
(new owner(s): csgofast.com - one of probably a bazillion csgo gambling websites)

Announcement: Info

16 MAY - MINIOCTOPUS CSGOFAST.COM
Dear users of SIH. As you have already noticed, the owner of SIH has been changed. There is no reason to panic, the programm extension was bought by an individual. We can assure you it would have no impact on quality of work and functionality of the programm extension. The problem with current bugs will be solved asap

The #1 source > google-chrome-store where most people get the plugin ... surprised myself to see it has 800.000 users!!
While in the steam group there are ~ 70.000 members.

I see it's useful for skin/case/key collectors, I only own 4 CSGO items worth a few cents, so I won't be needing it anytime soon :P

i've used it mostly to transfer steam items in mass ... as picking them manually is
a pain also filters quickly + counts the items (at least it used to)

Useful for anyone who deals in any Steam item. I use it in cards for game keys deals, where I set an amount in card prices, and this extension lets both parties see that the asked cards are indeed matching the agreed-upon sum.

Yeah, and it's especially suspicious because extension has auto-updates (as Chrome itself), I wouldn't really trust it myself anymore - if you need it, use a fork I posted above. Personally I don't need it anymore.

'No kidding. I don't think I want to run an "Inventory Helper" being managed by some skin gambling website.'

Had about the same concern as quoted by this guy on reddit - regardless how its maintained on githtub
(where most don't even check or know its there in the first place + most couldn't verify jack).

Thanks for the heads-up. I hope the fork posed by Archi will work on Opera as well.

The extension now asks for new permissions in Chrome. No way I'm gonna accept that.

lol, yeah sounds legit - discontinued using it altogether wouldn't even use an old version of it >
as that counts in chrome as outdated and it will ask every time whether you would like to run it or not ...

I was browsing the Steam Inventory Helper group on Steam, specifically looking through the forums to see if there was any info about the new changes. Some users expressed concern about the new permissions, and I wrote a post in this thread where I also shared my doubts. I also linked to the fork, and recommended it as an alternative. It didn't take five minutes and my post was deleted. As if the whole thing wasn't shady enough as it stands.
