Is GTA V region locked if I get it from a US trader?

I don't really mean to get it from a Russian or a Ukrainian trader, but it's rather expensive here. So, can I get it from a US trader? Thanks in advance.

Yes you can get it from such a trader, gifts bought from US aren't region locked

Yeah, just found out about it, bought keys to do the trading and bam! I thought CS:GO keys getting locked was going to be active in a few days.

it's locked from market, as I said. Supposed to be in-game too, but according to a friend, that's not working.
Only CS:GO keys from trades (paypal) don't get lock.

how is possible that it has not global trading lock as it was announced for all games/new releases?Or why rockstar dont restrict in like in Russian/Brazilian regon etc?

Seems somehow China avoided being in these regions, same as Japan. Brazilian zone is all latin america, and it's region locked there, same for Singapore zone, and in Russia game is still not available for pre-order, but it will be locked for sure.

CN just changed its Sub ID,it can only be purchased in CN https://steamdb.info/sub/58921/ ,now locked(and INDIA)

Don't get it from US traders, get it from Chinese, 16-17 keys compared to 19-20 keys US.

They're not region locked, they just disabled gift purchases for Chinese users. Existing gifts should be fine, but rare and expensive now.

Maybe Vietnamese traders will pick up the slack. It's $45 in their store.

Isn't there an activation lock too?

I understood that while folks who have activated the Chinese version of GTA V on their account would be fine, those who still had a Chinese gift in their inventories, will only be only be activate these gifts in China...

If you activated the game you should be fine, because you did it with the ROW sub ID, now the Chinese has another Sub ID, but this applies to newly purchased GTA V, previously purchased should be fine.

There's a way to get ROW-copies from China, so region lock doesn't help after all :D
