Heard of it. That's sad. He has played in so many awesome movies. :(

Rest In Peace, Mr. Wilder. :(

At least he'll hopefully be together with Gilda Radner again.

Sad day but what a great & entertaining legendary man. Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory, Blazing Saddles, Young Frankenstein, Stir Crazy... so, so funny.

'Tis funny that for so many he is the actor who played Willy Wonka, whereas for me, who never watched any of the Charlie adaptations, he is the one who played the original Leo Bloom (proving that the part was actually funny before Broderick showed up) and the young Frankenstein (which is one of the funniest films ever made).

I think he's really best recognized by the Willy Wonka role.

See no Evil, Hear no Evil is his best movie in my opinion. His chemistry with Richard Pryor in those films is hilarious. Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory is a classic too.

I remember seeing the movie on tv when I was a little kid. I got in trouble with my parents because I stayed up all night watching it. Fond memories of him and that film, along with his others.

That willy wonka scene always gave me a good laugh when he swished that cane on the railing. Despite being gone, he will be remembered in the timeless films he has been apart of.

Oh DAMN! I LOVED him. He was fantastic as the Waco Kid. And his duo with Richard Pryor were always hilarious. See No Evil, Hear No Evil is one of my favorites.

RIP. good sir. Thank you for all the laughs.

First Mr. Fuji and now Gene Wilder.

Edit- Allow me to add this in as it seems appropriate for today.

Although he may have departed in a physical sense, his wonderful spirit will live on spreading cheer through his films and in our memories.

One of my favorite comic actors, especially his collabs with Mel Brooks. Truly a legend.

Good bye Dr. Frederick Fronkensteen :(

One of my favourite actors of all time. If anyone did not watch Young Frankenstein you're missing probably the most hilarious comedy ever made.
