Question About Operation Payback Pass for CS:GO

Hi everyone. Operation Payback for CS:GO is over. A friend of mine bought Operation Payback Pass from steam market today.

He wanted to have an operation challange coin in his avatar. And in the market page it says "This pass no longer grants access to an Operation, but may be redeemed for a commemorative Operation Payback Coin."

There is no coin on his avatar now. Is there a way to show operation payback coin on avatar or is it too late?
