It's not really much but Leap Day is a game I am enjoying right now. It gives you 1 level every day. A little hard platforming action.

Edit: You can open earlier days with watching ads in free version.

Copypasted from my reply to a similar thread 9 months ago(I didn't know how to embed URLs back then):

Jetpack Joyride and Deep Loot are superb examples of f2p games done well. Both have microtransactions, but they aren't necessary. I bought the coin doubler in each game, though.

Little Alchemy is like doodle god but bigger and with a lot less annoying bells and whistles. Also, completely free with no ads.

If you like riddles, A Year of Riddles and the sequels are good.

If you like crossword puzzles, a good client is Shortyz.

The PathPix series is a lot of good, semi-mindless fun.

So is Glozzle.

If you liked Glozzle and want something similar but better-looking and more involved, try Blueprint 3D.

Monument Valley is sort of expensive and a little short but 100% awesome.

Finally, Smash Hit is probably one of the best mobile games ever made.

I haven't gotten around to playing it yet, but Kairosoft's Game Dev Story is supposed to be pretty addictive once you learn how to play it. The android version of King of Dragon Pass takes a little learning but is a great little story-driven tribal-medieval management game. "Rymdkapsel" is really simple but also addictive. Once you complete it there isn't much replay value, but until then it can hook you pretty easily. I suppose there is Doodle God too if that's your thing. Again potentially addictive as a timewaster, but I think the mobile version requires internet access. Zombie Gunship can burn some time. INheritage : BoE is soothing and weird, a minor form of bullet hell, but with limited continues that force you to restart the story from scratch if you lose them all (unless you pay for extended continues as a perma premium thing).

So, from the top :
Game Dev Story by Kairosoft.
King of Dragon Pass.
Rymdkapsel.
Doodle God (maybe).
Zombie Gunship.
INheritage : BoE.

I would also suggest perhaps buying a short series on Comixology or something. They have random sales at all times, and sometimes they have complete stories in there too, but be careful because not all of them can be downloaded locally and may require internet access (look for the 'DRM free backup' thingy symbol).

Might want to try Fahrenheit: Indigo Prophecy if you haven't try yet.
I just recently know that it's also available on Android. It's pretty good story and should keep you occupied for a while.

Swordigo is the best android game I ever played.

And you should get a power bank if you plan on gaming 12 hours on your phone. Maybe a phone cooler too ;)

Pathfinder Adventures is a fun game and free on Android. There's no paywall for how much you can play, and although it's not the fastest paced it's fine offline. You won't be able to earn currency, but that's not a huge deal breaker, since it can eat away the better part of a day very easily.

Get $7 in Google Play and buy Drastic DS emulator and download DS games from LoveROMS.com. Better than most mobile games in the store and only costs $7 for hours of fun, meaning no need to wait for cooldowns and no pay-walls.

Copied from 3 month old thread ;)

The Pirate: Caribbean Hunt very fun. IAP's are not needed at all plus you will see no add if you play offline.

Would also add
Transmission very fun puzzle game.
Superior Tactics RTS fun rts game.
Alien Star Menace very fun simple squad tactics
Sword & Glory game with darksouls like feel, where you die a lot and start over almost from scratch.
Cthulhu Virtual Pet if you ever feel like having pet in your phone.
Basketball Shoot simple time waster
Pacific Fleet pretty fun naval combat, if bit too simple after you get used to it.
Stickman Basketball - pretty well made sports game
Let's Fold you would be surprised how hard puzzles can you make with piece of paper...
