Also, claiming they will get banned is little better, since that is scare tactics for something that isn't true. It sucks that you didn't get a game, but that doesn't result in a ban.

To be fair, 'sfar as I know Steamgifts doesn't give you a guide on how to properly gift things before you actually go to the "make a gift" window. It would probably help a lot of users, both gifters and giftees, if there was a proper guide. Up until recently, I didn't know how to redeem stuff or gift things on Steam, simply because I never looked into it. Some Steamgift members probably think about wanting to make a giveaway here, and create one without being aware of how it really works, which create situations like this that could be avoided were more information provided.

This is the my attitude to most things. When I give job interviews to people I hope the interview goes really well or it goes really poorly. If it goes really well then I have a new employee that I like. If it goes really poorly I have a nice story to tell people. If the person is just mediocre I won't hire them and there's no story. That makes me sad.

He obviusly made a mistake and instead of talking this out you were pushing him to give you your game and saying youll ban him.
