So basically I have Far Cry 4 (Uplay version) downloaded and installed on my PC. Today I activated the steam version of Far Cry 4 that I got from that AC Unity Season Pass thingy.

My question is: Is there any way to transfer the files from the Uplay folder to the steam folder of Far Cry 4 to avoid downloading it all again? And what about the save files?

Thanks for your help!

Uplay doesn't detect folder of an installed game like Steam does, cuz it's trash. But from Uplay to Steam should be ok. Just move the folder and the save files to correct location.

When I move the folder to the "common" steam folder, the game still shows as uninstalled. What am I doing wrong?

You need to click install and if there is a folder with a correct name of that game it will check it and you won't have to install the entire game.

I still can't do it. Basically, when I start downloading it, a new folder is created with the game id in SteamApps/downloading but there's no folder in SteamApps/common. If I create a folder named "Far Cry 4" and put the Uplay files there, nothing happens.

Have you tried putting the files there, restarting steam may be nessecary for it to recognise them (though that still might not work). As for saves they should be synched with your uplay account unless you disabled that feature and ae such it shouldnt matter which version of the game your running.
