You know the feeling that you want to pre-order a new game that you would love and your PC would not run it at a decent framerate

  • I really wanted to buy The Witcher 3 but then I realised that even my new (future) PC would not run it properly at a decent resolution and at Med settings
  • It happened the same thing with far cry 3, on my current laptop can't even run properly it on low at 1366X768 (that's why i did not even pre-ordered it because i wouldn't run it at a good framerate)

You could just continue using your old pc for other than gaming stuff though? console might be cheaper and could run games for a longer while :D

Better save money, and buy a new PC than a Console lol. 7.4 The Wicher 3 pre-orders at Steam price equals to a 400$ gaming PC. On console every game cost 60$ + paid multiplayer every month + second controller for friends, so you will end up paying much more than on a gaming PC, even if console cost less, also you will never have that good prices and offers on consoles.

I suggest you everytime you have that feeling, get the money and instead of buying the game, save the money, just several feelings like this will make you getting money for a decent Gaming PC :P

Now why do you even buy PC that can't run them? Spend less money on game pre-orders and put that money in your PC build (and for God sake - don't buy laptop if you want to play games).

lol 3-4 years ago? not being able to run on a 3 year old laptop is definite. but yea like everyone says put money into a better pc. If witcher 3 is one of the main things your looking at you could hold on till its a lower price like $40 since i dont think it has multiplayer. So you shouldnt be missing much of the mainstreamness

Sure they deserve it, but buying the game for full price is the same thing except you won't get all those "bonuses" :P

This is more of that made up "people repeating lies they heard other people say" nonsense where I'm supposed to pretend my laptop with an integrated graphics card can't run PS3 era games with no issue, right?

Don't buy a laptop? Correct. If you can afford it, get a gaming ultrabook like the Razer Blade 14 or the Asus G550. :)

can't run far cry 3? i had no problem with that one. i dont get to play many games at my full resolution of 1920x1080 but i dont mind playin on 1600x900 or 1280x720 and after the resolution change i coulda played most recent games on high (this was back when tomb raider first came out, that era) idk how i would handle most of these....witcher 3 prob on 640x480 :/

I know that feel. I paid almost zero attention to consoles for so long..I actually had Skyrim (this was a while back!) on my steam list on my PC for about 12 months before I installed it because I thought 'My PC won't possibly be able to run it on max settings because it's new!"...turns out the console generation had really held back graphics and when I finally installed it I could run Skyrim pretty good on a PC from 2009/2010 ^^

He didn't play it on a console either. He said the console hardware held Skyrim down to the point where his old PC could run it.

I never pre-ordered any game, but I know that felling; most of my library can not run in my pc.

Sad, but very true. Most of my games are unfortunately way too demanding for my computer...

I can run Far Cry 3 at an acceptable (read: 15 fps) rate at lowest settings, 640x480. Currently running Core 2 Duo, 2.2 GHz, and a 240M.
