I suggest start you task manager and click on the process tab and look for the exe that started doing that for you or if you don't remember what it was just look for something suspicious or odd in the process's tab. Then locate its destination folder by right click on it and click on show destination folder and delete it. I have dealt with many many people that have had issues like this before and i have fix those issues that way. Good luck on malware hunting.

Boot into safe mode, run rkill.exe, use your antivirus and malwarebytes to scan for viruses. See if you still got it afterwards.

If I was there looking at your machine and fiddling with it, I could probably fix it, but trying to help you through a forum post is very problematic, and I don't have a lot of time right now. Good luck with it, though.

What I like to do is finding the .exe that is causing me problems, then right-click->properties->add .jpg to the name field.
Normally you shouldn't be able to rename it (much less change the extension) when it's running, so try to kill the process and if it fails, launch in safe mode (keep F8 down as soon as you restart the computer). Then apply the above steps. It rarely fixes everything, but it does disable the virus from running.

Windows only obviously.

There's not much you can do if you can't open any .exe's

Try to back-up as much important data as you can (if you want) and then wipe your data by re-installing your OS.

If you have Windows, I think it keeps your files automatically in a file called windows.old after you re-install your OS, but be careful as that may still contain the files which started your virus. Good luck.

Yeah, and there's only 221 games on the Mac side of Steam versus 1506 on the PC-side. This is taken straight from Steam by the way, click the magnifying glass icon on the search bar, and fill in the two fields: All items to Games, Any OS to PC and then Mac.

I would like to correct you on the no virus part. There definitely exist viruses for mac.(if you don’t believe me, just Google it). There are however less viruses on mac than on windows. the reason for this is not a better security on mac. No, it's because there are far more windows users than mac users. and since virus programmers tend to infect as much people as possible, they obviously choose windows.

But as the popularity of mac increases. So will the number of viruses

You can get a virus on a Mac too. If you are smart enough to get one on Windows, you sure can on a Mac. They aren't as common because despite what Mac users think, they only take up around 10% of the entire computer market. Everyone attacks the most popular platform. ;)

what does it do? does it show you that you can't find the .exe or something similar?

If thats the case you can just restore the registry entries for executables and reboot....
