2 days ago someone asked me if the number of people voting per day had decreased as the competition went on, the numbers I see here do not seem to bear this out. they seem to very slightly, but probably withing the normal variance of steamgifts traffic

that being said, what was people's opinions of the voting process of this contest? was 24 hours too short of a time period? did the voting drag on too long? How could this have been done better?

One thing i am considering is a possibility of instant voting, IE as soon as a song is added letting a user rate it on a scale on 1-10, but i am unsure how to best impalement that.

Did unknown pull off a 'sing and run' ?

I think the voting didn't drag on for too long, just about right, 24h hours is enough to give everyone a chance to listen and vote.Thank you for organizing this Ceebers, it was a lot of fun! I'll look forward to the third edition.

And like that, my friends, the 2nd SG karaoke has come to an end. This was a lot bigger compared to the first one, more songs and more singers overall. A big thanks to ceebers for organizing all this, and of course to everyone that participated in any way on this event. As for the voting, i can't think of any way better than the way it was done, it worked out pretty well to be honest.

Congratulations to everyone up there. Special congratulations to the finalists and even more special to the big winner Bain ;)

Voted LucasKane in the finals, but oh well. Congrats to Bainsol for winning again.

I thought for sure that Bainsol was going to win this again by a landslide, and he did, just not as easy as before. There were some really great competitors this time. ^-^

Well... The event was great as usual so i cant have any complains. At least i've lost with the big winner in the first round :d I was thinking about recording few other songs as well but 10 sons is a large number anyway. PsychoClown, LucasKane, Tumalu - you guys were simply amazing but the other participants were great too. So... Yes.
I want to thank Ceeb for whole event, people for every single vote (not only the ones that were meant for me but those are especially sweet) and bunch of thanks for our artists. Again - i had fun listening to every one of your song (multiple times). Yes.

I really liked being part of this event, it also helped me to letting loose a little bit and to expess myself, I appreciate that <3

The most amazing this is the fact that someone voted for me :D Whoever you are, I love you.

I still kinda regret that I couldn't manage to get normal mic (if I'm actually doing something I like to make it in decent quality :P) but after all it was fun that count. Much respect and honest congratulations for other participants and of course our master of ceremony Ceebers for setting whole thing up. Doing it solo surelly was a hard thing to manage, not to mention he have to deal with my incompetence when I wiped out google disc trying to upload my first song -.-

Last but not least, thank you all good people who dedicated their time to listen our songs and decided to vote. After all, without you the whole vent wouldn't have sense.

I'll take this opportunity to suggest some thing for the next contest. I'm a newbie in sound editing, so I might be wrong, but I had the feeling that there's heavy editing in many songs. I know that it can improve the quality of a singer's voice a lot, so, maybe in the next contests, we could have a limitation on how much editing (or what kind of effects) you can do to your song. My reasoning behind this are 2:

1. When you sing "live" karaoke, your voice is raw, not edited.
2. If we allow too much editing, it'll end being a "sound editing skill" contest more than a karaoke contest.

Of course, as noob as I am, I don't know how much would be "too much editing" and what could be or not allowed. What does everyone think?
