That's true, but doesn't actually answer the question. For example, this is DRM-free even through Steam.

It's standalone, downloadable from your account on indiegamestand.com. It's also on Greenlight.

Kind of. The "Steam DRM" everyone talks about is actually Steamworks, which bind the game to your account. Other companies use their own DRM (or both). And some just use Steam as a distribution platform, so you can play the game even when logged off (running the executable).
