Deus Ex: a thief-like first person stealth action game, but also a great RPG. Human Revolution is the same thing, but the RPG component is highly simplified for newer generation(of retards), but still a good game.
There's also a thing called Dragonshard. It's a game in the D&D universe, but it's not an RPG. At its core it's an RTS, but it does have strong RPG elements. The game isn't the second coming of Jesus, as it doesn't excel at neither of its components, but I do find it an interesting combination, found usually only in MOBAs, but in a totally different way. It's not on Steam, though. Of course, you can always try out a MOBA. I personally recommend League of Legends.
The Heroes of Might and Magic and King's Bounty series combine turn based strategy with role-playing. Heroes puts more emphasis on the TBS side, while King's Bounty is more of an RPG(a turn-based, Japanese style RPG if you're into that sort of thing).

Sanctum 2 is near the top of the list for me. haven't played it as much as I should though. Deus Ex is still one of the best FPS/RPG hybrids. Brutal Legend is 3rd-person hack&slash/RTS/Open world sandbox mixup and better than I thought.

Salvation Prophecy: Action RPG + Space Sim + 4X Strategy with both ground and space combat.
I haven't played it yet, but I couldn't resist getting it during the Summer Sale for 75% off, and it just so happens to be on sale again right now. It touches on just about all my favorite genres. Granted, from the reviews it seems like it isn't quite the best at any one of those aspects, but the overall experience seems to be rather good as long as you enjoy the combination.

Saaaaaa....nctum. You started with that one. Aw. And I did like the original Sanctum more because it was innovative, and unexpectedly goofy in places. I have a snapshot on my Steam of just... a pile of walkers that just couldn't walk past two gatling turrets, a hill of wierd alien ragdoll bodies.
Also, Orcs Must Die, which is goofy on purpose.
And I'm having a pretty good time with Firefall coming out soon, a shooter-MMORPG.

Not exactly what you are asking for, but this is the first thing that came to my mind.
Sorry. I had the wrong link in my clipboard. I meant this game not the music lol. XD
(The wrong link I posted in case people are wondering. :p)

I think genre mashups are common enough now that genre combinations rarely seem unlikely. The first mashup in general that came to mind though was Savage (RTS, FPS, slight RPG). The game in the state it was in when I bought it remains one of my all-time favourites and I'd love to see it return, but the devs split and made a sequel that was just too different (and then Heroes of Newerth, which I don't think I can ever bring myself to play) while the community saved the original with unofficial patches only to end up killing it by turning them into obligatory mods.

what is your best "genre mashup" game? a genre mashup game is a game where two unlikely genres are put into 1 game; Example: sanctum 2; an FPS tower defense game. I find these games very interesting and i'd like to play and know what your favorites are!
