I don't really have anything against the developer, but:

The Princess' Heart was made with the engine RPG Maker VX Ace. In fact, it was made almost entirely by one person (me) with barely any budget -- though it received some high quality updates for the Steam release.
This game came forth from a very specific moment in my life. I was in a very dark place, and creating an adventure around my own pain was a method of self-healing. Instead of crafting a library of custom graphics (as I have done extensively for my other games), I decided to use RPG Maker VX. Why? Because I want to make a point with this game. This game is fake. It's not real. What's real is the people behind it. The girl. The writer. The world within the game is entirely fictional, and the comical neatly polished RPG Maker graphics reflect this idea perfectly.
I hope that you will enjoy this game! It offers up to 15 hours of smooth and fun role-playing gameplay. Don't be fooled by the looks! This is very much a "RosePortal Games" title. It has those weird, off-beat qualities that you have come to expect from us. ^_^

So basically, "hey I was sad so I made this game, buy it". I hope it's good though , but judging by the screenshots it looks very generic.

" a style inspired by Earthbound and Final Fantasy 3"...but what look like mostly default RPG Maker assets.

"Unique narration: learn about the life of a real girl as you delve into the fantasies of her mind."

I'm kind of tired of "It's set in the protagonist's subconscious!" as an attempt to add depth to a generic RPG.

Plus a "deluxe addition" that adds in game items. Charging for RPG Maker in game items. What's next?

That's a pretty flimsy reason for using stock assets. The writing would need to be exceptional to counteract this, but with it being a fantasy game and the story being anchored in real relationship problems/events, it's unlikely to rise above it's base components. Bleeg.

I fully expected the developer to have no other games, but they do have a few with original graphical assets, and they look alright.

I think they would've been better off making their own "generic" fantasy assets if that was the point they were trying to make.

I have the same sentiment. As if we needed more run-of-the-mill RPG Maker games.

I guess hints are pointless if there's no preorder, heh. I'll check it out once it starts though.

Most of the mini bundles have been quite nice thus far. Not so sure about this one though, the RPG-maker game seem to be a rather average one, the first A-men game has bad reviews (apparently really buggy), and Driveby gangster seem to be one of those games that one can call "objectively bad". That leaves A-men 2 & Legacy of Svarog. The later does not seem very promising, they even messed up the music at one point in the trailer

It's amazing how the quality of games can go even lower when you thought it's at their lowest already...
No way I'm giving money for these should-be-on-a-free-flash-site games.

For what it's worth, I respect for the author of Driveby Gangster even if the game is gimmicky and more suited to the mobile market than Steam. Hopefully he irons out the issues. Someone who left a negative review on Steam attempted to contact the developer via the forum and ended up refunding the game. In response, the developer offered him a free Steam key so he could re-create the issue and the developer could sort it out.

He wrote it from scratch in C instead of just crapping it out in Unity. When the game launched he asked I think $3 for it, and very few people bought it but one of the people that did was from the warez scene and soon his game was being spread around the usual warez places. After that fiasco he offered his game for free/pwuw on Itch and only asked for people to vote him up on Greenlight if they liked it.

Again, not really a great game, but the dev is respectable and at least cares about the project unlike some of the people looking to make a quick buck by crapping out titles on Greenlight.

Good chance to get rid of those groupeescoins, $0,50 is a good price for this bundle. Normaly with pre-orders its cheaper to pre-order then buying full price with coin.

Good call! I see I have had a coin as well. I bit for $0.50. I've purchased every mini bundle thus far so I feel I must continue... (._.)

I am glad I read your post, who would have thought my coins will be useful one day :D finally... no pre-order is actually not a bad thing ^^

Can I ask a question about groupees coins? Say you have a coin worth $5 and you buy a bundle for like $3 do you still get that $2 left over to spend on another bundle or does it just vanish? Cause I have one coin that is now worth more than $5.

Don't know if the deleted comment was an answer or if you saw it but:

You don't get any leftovers from the coin. Haven't tried it myself but saw someone mention this earlier in groupees chat.

Ah ok thanks. So why have I been given a coin worth so much! It's not like i'm ever gonna be able to get the full value out of it because the bundles never cost that much!

The Be Mines do cost $5.00 sometimes for the top tier, and the Visual Novel bundles have been more than that.

You can't use the coins on a pre-order, so it's only for that bundle that you initially skipped or forgot to pre-order, and later decided to get anyway.

Yeah on the next be mine I might just skip the preorder and use the coin. I have no interest in the VN bundles. I was waiting for my coin to go up in value but seems theres no point in waiting now. :(

Well theres inflation. The more coins that are used, the value goes up (again from reading groupees chat a few days ago). So I believe they started at $2.5? Or something in that range and now they're at $5 or whatever they're at.

I'd assume they have a plan to implement changes which would allow you to keep any leftovers, unless they're against it, but then why would coin value rise.
