Butchering Dante isn't that big a deal.
As long as I can still juggle 10+ enemies, jump cancelling and switching between my styles and weapons earning that Smokin Sick Style at 60fps, then DmC should be a solid game like the rest.

I will say this, I was one of the people Moaning like a child that didn't get anything for Christmas but after seeing gameplay clips I am really looking forward to it, hell it cant be any worse then DMC2.
If you notice when he devil triggers he looks like the original Dante, this being a prequel might have something to explain why his look changed.

I rather have it like this, I can see Dante being a **** like this when he is younger, as long as the story explains how he became like he is I am fine with it honestly, just gonna go in with an open mind.

Plus Ninja Theory is still really new, they made Enslaved: Odyssey to the West which I heard was a pretty great game.
I have faith that it might turn out good. The DMC2 team was a shitty team lol...Pretty sure they gave that project to all college graduates, new employees .

I read it somewhere, cant remember think it was in an interview awhile back, Capcom wanted these changes apparently, they thought the series stagnated, even though I really really enjoyed DMC4 I kinda see what they are talking about a tiny bit, it still could have been kept enjoyable for another regular sequel or two I think.
I heard enslaved was pretty fun but had a bad ending and a couple problems, probably will pick it up eventually. Sure there are many better games to play though, still Ninja Theory is young and personally I think they should still be given the chance here, if they fail with this, then lets bash them(still not death threat worthy), I don't think they deserve the amount of hate they are receiving or the death threats from "fans".

This game is actually good, stylish and fast gameplay, more realistic world and more serious themes, a prequel/reboot for a series who needed that because of repetition over 4 episodes with a lack of story.

So, you're hating on a game with great combat, level and monster design because the main hero looks unpleasant to you. I understand the swearing part, but it gave me some fun Exorcist flashbacks, doubt they will be dropping F-bombs in every cutscene. Seriously, if you want to see a bad example of making a game dark and edgy look at Shadow the Hedgehog.

You can't judge the level design by that small bit of the level you saw and personally I think that boss design was mediocre compared to stuff I've seen in other games (not just previous DMCs)
