that promo ended. the "herp derp this is free" comments on the giveaways are annoying not to mention wrong.

how it works for you guys and not working for me, i have both graphics nvidia and ati and i tried both promotions

after the last steam update . Ati , Nvidia offers are not working any more , i dont know why . there is nothing said that the offer is over !!

It's not like if you're missing anything if by some miracle you missed this promo. With Team Fortress 2 gone free along with Source SDK, you can access pretty much all Source mods without purchasing stuff. (You had to own a source game to access mods like Zombie Panic, so HL2DM used to be pointed out as the cheapest way around, the promo just helped).

Not many people play HL2:DM nowadays, either way.
