Every time I try to force sync my account it comes up with this error message:

"Please switch to a public Steam profile before attempting to sync. This can be done by updating your Steam privacy settings as seen below."

The problem is, my account is already public. I tried to edit my profile again and save the settings as public but alas it did not work.

I tried about once every few hours for about a week. Sync'd once, then had issues syncing on demand again for another week. Finally resolved itself. Still have some hiccups every now and then, but they seem to resolve themselves quicker (as in minutes). Best of luck.

I generally have no issues syncing, but two of the most common solutions I've seen (outside of waiting for it to resolve itself), is to:

  1. Setup your profile to private, try syncing after waiting a few minutes, then set it back to public, and try syncing again after waiting a few minutes.
  2. Logging out of Steam in both the client/website and Steamgifts, and re-loggin back in again after waiting a few minutes, and repeating Step 1 above.

I've also heard restarting your computer can help (as it will naturally reconnect your computer to the internet and refresh DNS/IP settings).
