Which CosmoSim is better ?
Since Stellaris has the greatest Star Trek mod ever, even though it's still just in alpha, I'm gonna go with that. It's basically Birth of the Federation 2.

I have well over 6k hours in MoO2 & 2k in MoO.
And still play MoO, MoO2 & Reboot MoO at least twice a week.

I only played Stellaris from the list and really liked it. And somehow it managed to be only strategy game where I don't get blood-thirsty at all.

I like Master of Orion 1 & 2, along with Galactic Civilizations 2. Haven't played 3 yet.
Stellaris was a major disappointment to me.
Pandora: First Contact is better than Civilization: Beyond Earth.

Well, you do expand, exploit and exterminate. I guess the map is fully explored from the start but you could argue that you still explore by going around meeting different characters and seeing new locations.

Here is a 1x bump from me, Stellaris has my vote but I haven't tried a few of the others so it was an easy choice. Concerning older games, definitely Master of Orion 2 :)

I liked the X-Series very much. That's what I understand, when you say "space X4" Game (maybe Freelancer too). From your list I only played Stellaris, but imo thats a strategy game, not really what I unterstand as X4-Game.
I tried Space Rangers HD. It looks promising. Haven't played it enough to really get an opinion about it.
Someone knows similar games that he recommends?

Unfortunately, there are no more games like Space Rangers.
Moreover, Space Rangers HD it's not exactly original - it's a remake of Space Rangers 2. Space Rangers 1 and 2 were deleted from the store because of the problems with mp3-license or something like that.
