Hello everybody, i would like to suggest a button or automatic function to be able to remove deleted giveaways from entered list. Right now it stays in the list. For example i had entered a giveaway for GTA V a week or so ago and since it got deleted it is staying on the list of entered. Now this new version of Steamgifts has a new version of entered giveaways and so on the top part of the entered section there is part for entered (but not completed) giveaways, and right under that there is an straight line that separates entered from finished.

Here is a picture of my problem http://i.imgur.com/RXeOs67.jpg it's staying in not finished giveaways.

Very old thread, but this problem is still an issue and should be addressed!

As somebody who is suffering from an extremly mild case of OCD myself I have to say that our compulsive habits are something we can work on ;)

I also assume most people wanna know when an expensive AAA GA they entered gets deleted so they can blacklist the creator.

I was going to create my own thread, but after seeing this is was like eh good enough.
Like there have been some giveaways (5-6) that just ended recently. All were super popular and expensive games, and the creator deleted them at the end because it was obviously a troll. Now they are stuck in everyone's entered list :/

Yes, I noticed those gibs. I entered a couple of them myself.

But in my opinion that's a good thing that they stay in the list so people notice when a fake promotional giveaway gets deleted by the creator, so they can blacklist them if they want to.

Good point. Perhaps then an option to delete the giveaway manually? After, say, everyone has had a chance to blacklist them?
I mean, the user got a permanent suspension anyway so not that blacklisting matters haha.

Yeah, the ability to manually delete them could work. I doubt it's very high up on cg's priority list but I don't see much speaking against it ;)

If someone make GAs that only function is to gather clicks/subs (please subscribe to my youtube channel if you like this GA!), and they are deleted shortly before GA end - it's considered as fake GA making and can lead to suspension.

Like user you're talking about, they're perma suspended as of now. So if you see GA like this (promotional that is deleted before GA ends) you can report user like this.

I know haha, buy my main issue is the fact that they stay in your "giveaways entered" list for a prolonged amount of time.

You both have a point. It's nice to have the ability to refer back to a deleted GA as that is the only way you may access information about it. Once it's deleted, you need a bookmark or something to find it, again. Being able to pull up the details on it is useful. On the other hand, it's annoying to have it in your list for the duration of the original giveaway. An option to manually hide, somehow, would be nice.

If changes to where the deleted giveaways are listed is seriously considered, perhaps instead of us being able to manually remove them from the section of current giveaways, a 6th option could maybe be added to the settings page, something like the following:

Group deleted giveaways with finished giveaways?
☑ Yes
☐ No

I'd call this a hybrid option, and I'd recommend the default be No (i.e. current behavior). So we could manually turn on an automated resorting option :)

Sadly, not all the time such entries give the creator. I, more than once, accidentily blacklisted support. Reverting when finding out of course.

Generally support is deleting giveaways and giveaway creator is unknown.
For example: https://www.steamgifts.com/giveaway/WDEjg/westboro

Let me preface this by saying that when Support is involved in deleting a giveaway that means the giveaway has already ended and the winnner agreed to delete it so that's usually means everything is fine and thus it doesn't really matter if we know who the creator was or not but do you mean this giveaway ?

I can tell because I'm a powerful Lvl 9 mage but Muggles can find out too by using Archive and crossreferencing deletion time :P

I imagine such entries are kept in case support needs to check something

When i look at my entered GAs page, deleted giveaways are shown in the finished section under that seperating line. Seems like this has been changed already. Maybe some people would still like a button to get rid of them. I don´t mind the way it is right now.

Mine do not go under the separating line, they stay in the middle of the active ones for some reason and it's really annoying. Here's a pic of it:

Well that´s annoying for sure. I´m using ESGST script, not sure if that has any influence.

Are you sure? That pic has other GAs that end in 16 hours around the deleted one. That was 2 hours ago. have a look at the same one now. Is it in the same spot. Do both the ones around it now say 14 hours left as of now. I bet that in 15 hours all 3 will be an hour into the done category. I' have not tracked them as Its not an issue but it looks at first glance that they stay in the same spot they would have it they had not been deleted. I would say its working as intended.

If they were getting stuck then I wold have all them bunched together somewhere. Thats not the case. I see deleted ones spread out in my list so I am assuming that is where they would have been anyhow. I'm curious as to what you see for that same GA a day from now.

Oh. I don't think thats how its working for me. I took a screenshot. I'll check the same place in the morning and see. I have a few that have others around them that currently say ended 12 hours ago. I'll see if the order is the same as my current screenshot or if they have others around them tomorrow. Its possible I've just not noticed that then.

Yeah perhaps.
I think some have disappeared, because I only have 3 in my entered list right now, and I'm pretty sure there have been more than 3 out of all I've entered to date.

Forgot to check this morning and then I was gone for the day. I'm back. I can confirm that on my list the deleted games I took a screen shot have moved further into the past. They appear in the same order and with the same games surrounding them. They are being treated as a normal expired GA.

I see. But it would be nice if they got "pushed out" of the list and would sit with all the ended ones, rather than hovering near the active ones, if you get what I'm saying.

They stay in the list as though they were still active. They get "pushed out" in the same way non-deleted giveaways do.

Yeah, but don't they have access to the logs of the website. Pretty much all websites have them so they can access it thought it. Also deleted giveaways don't really have much use for users other than viewing that some user suggested a few keys more than he/she had or that user didn't read the site rules.

For me the best solution should be to be removed after certain amount of time let's say a week, and be visible only for admins and mods. That way your entered history will be clean of these and the mods will be able to see them if needed.

I wonder if we will see more input from LordNaikon. Apparently he has been online since the replies started being posted, would love to know if this is something they are still interested in?

I don't see what more i can give as input. The general idea behind my suggestion is that personally and for many users this feature is not needed. If you will be blacklisting a user how many deleted giveaways he/she has will not matter. Because for the most important part of blacklist is keys given and activated and mostly keys not delivered.

Just seeing whether after two years you had changed your mind or not. Glad to see you are still interested in this. I agree that most people probably won't notice any difference, I'd assume most users don't often look in their Giveaways Entered list.
