My parents got back from Italy, long story short they couldn't find a 3DS.
Anyway, what's the cheapest online store where I can buy a 3DS preferably in US Dollars or Euros? (I live in Israel so I get most of my stuff from both US and Europe...)

I'd say wait for the 2DS because no one uses the 3d feature and it's cheaper

The tablet design seems to make carrying it a nightmare...

that's true but look on the bright side, you won't have to worry about the hinge breaking

Well... I had DS Lite for a few years but the L button got all shitty... And My DSi is still alive... Unless the 3DS hinges are extremely shitty I don't think there will be problems...

You'll need to commit to a region at least physically since the 3DS has region lock. So, games from JP cannot play on a US device, and it's shady whether US games can play on a PAL device (I haven't tried this). Your cheapest bet is to buy a US device and stick to the US region since they get most of the games; PAL has rare to no benefits in game availability. The eShop lets you change regions, but purchases are locked to that specific region (which means a power reset per change to access your games) and there's no universal account functionality yet; you can only transfer purchases from one 3DS to another.

Post that, it depends on which model you want. The original 3DS is somewhat cheaper and far more portable, but the XL feels better and has a larger screen. I'd recc the XL, but if shoving things into your pocket on the go is moderately important, the original is probably better suited. It also depends on what game/handheld bundles are available this winter, since those are pretty good in value.

The 3DS is region locked? That's ridiculous, I remember the original fat DS being region free, at least, I remember playing a Canadian copy of Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Blue Rescue Team on my Dutch DS back then, also, my copy of Pokemon Emerald was a US copy, though idk if it mattered with GBA games

That's because a 3Ds is a 3Ds and not an old phat DS.

Gosh you mean that? I had no ideaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. Fucking idiot. I meant, why would they change that going forward to their next handheld.

Israel is in PAL region and I plan to get my games from here, just the console is very expensive. And I've already decided on the XL :)

How much is expensive, just out of curiosity?

Over 270 Euro would be more expensive than my own country's prices (which are extremely expensive. There is one "cheap" store that has it for about 270 Euro but most stores have it for 350...)

I don't have a 3DS and I'm not into pirating Pokemon games... besides, I don't want to have problems with Nintendo, so why would I need that?

Hmm...I found this for 179 euros, it's Amazon.de (Germany) though. I think they do send to your country and the price ranges between 9 and 28, as I'm not sure if you can choose the cheapest method.
Also be aware that there might be an increase in price due to taxes and such.

NTSC, PAL, SECAM, etc don't really come into play when referring to handhelds.
They're definition display standards, not region ones.

Sadly though, 3DS is region locked :\

I know that, but the 3DS has nothing to do with television standards.

Wait, what? Isn't PAL and such the region your game works on? Like, NTSC region games won't work on a PAL XBOX? :S

Which work with games from their region e.g you cant play us version game on eu console, correct me if i'm wrong please, i dont own 3ds but thinking about getting one

Since Nintendo are greedy scammers and digital games are at least at the price of the physical ones I'd recommend you to buy your games via physical, + you will not have to worry about all the restrictions and messings of digital version
