Ok let me tell you one of the things I do for a living... I design High Yield Game and Data Servers..... I am probably far more familiarized with what it takes to actually provide resource for a site like this then you are... also under my development belt or sites like Ragezone.com, VSRO Silkroad Servers, MMOWebs and CabalToolz ..I have worked on some of the most highly trafficked modules and nodes in the private server community .... so dont try to talk like you know what you are saying... this is a click and win... module driven website..... simple entry contest running from a module handled by php.... for christs sakes their server isnt even handling the login procedure... OpenID is.... the only thing this site has to muscle is the traffic.
A site like this could be run a primitive webserver....
Has anyone "Official" around here ever thought about maybe changing the sites "structure" and architecture? This current frame is obviously not meant or built to power this much traffic... so if for any reason they cant or wont upgrade it... thats their own damn lazy faults, and they shouldnt be running a website... part of operating a site like this is upkeep and maintenence... something I have noticed they really dont put in...
I see 1 of 2 possibilities here, piece of crap server machine, or piece of crap database. (Both are so ridiculously easy to fix that this problem never should have existed to begin with ;) )
Now as for the guy that told me to give them money. Well dude, I dont need to give them money because the ad revenue from traffic on this site ALONE exceeds what most of us make per paycheck, so maybe the admins should take some of that money that are making and ACTUALLY PUT IT BACK INTO THE SERVER ;)

CG pays out of pocket to run this website, and even with constant refinements, it can only handle so much. Want it to run faster? Give him money so he can afford upgrades. He pays to keep this running, while you here are *****ing about a free service open to all. The site is often better than this, but bundle floods don't help.

Well, considering I've never seen ads for other sites myself, and I've seen a Support member mention that he has a deal with the two sites to get money to spend with them by directing users there. they do, feel free to look it up yourself. This site is highly trafficked, and highly followed, it holds a market value of over $100,000 ($100K) , There are thousands of Statistics Trackers out there, and they all report almost the same exact numbers.
It is obvious that they are pocketing the money they are making, and not using it to upgrade or update the website or server... because if they were, it would not operate like this ;)

well I know my approach is somewhat, ermm.. I guess "rough" is a good word, but really, this has been a problem for a long long time now, and at almost $10k per month margin from this site, I see no valid possible excuse as for why it is like this.
It is a terrible case of Improper Management.
Hopefully they actually take the time to read past Ironfist outlook and see that what I am saying could be golden to them.
All in all this website is a fantastic idea, and still remains top of its class, however it seems that once it hit the top, these guys have just kinda let it float there with no real approach on upgrades, or staying updated.. and because of that it runs like garbage
Just like I said originally, they could go with something like Cloudflare, and pay the extra fee to have them just Auto-Monitor the entire site, and when it starts to bog down, Cloudflare steps it up.
We used it on Ragezone and it solved about 95% of ALL issues, including ones we thought were completely unrelated...
it's worth looking into ;)

Oh dont get me wrong gentlemen, I would totally donate to this site, if I felt that they were actually trying with the already existing funding they have.
I dont feel that they are doing so. I own a Development and Design Company in Seattle where the market demand for what I do is very high, and I will tell you right now, I am lucky to pull $350 per day ... consecutively... and if I was raking that in, I could make many many upgrades and updates.
$350 x 7 = $2450 (per week)...
So if they are making $2450 per week sitting on their asses watching all click like crazy, then why does the site run like shit, and barely work half the time?

From what I understand, the website owner (CG) actually loses money running this website. I've heard mods say that multiple times, and I have no reason to doubt them. It's a free service that I like, so I disabled Adblock. Not much more I can do, and if the site really does lose money than they're not likely to be able to do much more themselves.

IMO this site runs a little better than Gala Giveaways. And if anyone tried buying anything from the Gala Store during the summer sale, then you would have noticed that site ran pretty terrible for about a week. Thats my opinion though. I know nothing about running a website.

Do you guys really think they don't want to fix these issues? I know nothing about the subject, but I'm assuming you can't revamp a website in just a few weeks. The biggest problems I've seen have been happening in the past week or so. I recommend being patient, giving them some time, and then speaking directly to them about it instead of inflaming the community into some needless argument over how much money the site generates and blah blah and such and such.
Edit: Other people are saying it's been bad the past few months. I haven't noticed that, but maybe I'm wrong, so perhaps my comment is partially invalid.

I know nothing about programming and coding but, honestly you do have a point its been like this for months but during the summer sale it got better then after the maintenance, it was back to this again and today i'm having a hard time trying to acess this website the only time i can is during midnight and, early morning (1am - 6am).
I just hope it gets fixed i'm not trying to say they aren't trying but, just saying how it been like for me these past few months
