I choose Homefront, though I like COD too

Why Homefront

  1. it's interesting and entertaining, good shooter, no cutscenes, (I like games without cutscenes, and hate with too much cutscenes like COD and Assassins Creed III, you walk 10 meters and cutscene, you go 5 meters and... cutscene, it ruins connection with game, and it looks as I watch a bad anime movie)

  2. In Homefront, you actually have shooting in the city, in buildings, you use Goliath, some APC car I dont know for sure, you fly helicopter, you don't run through corridor all the way with a couple of turns.

  3. It has a decent Multiplayer, badly no many people in.

  4. Decent graphics, I'm ok with it.

The only bad thing it's too short, about 3.5 hours.

I'm waiting for another Homefront II, hopefully It will be 8-10 hours.

And you?

IDtech 3 is a really good engine, you're right. Back when it launched with Quake 3 -- it was amazing for 1997.

Homefront is atrocious not only with trying to deal with such heavy subject matter yet marring with an incredibly insulting amount of patriotism and simplistic gameplay, but with being very dull in terms of set piece variation as well. It's like red dawn but twice as retarded. The amount of scripting is up there with medal of honor, at least COD tries to hide it to some extent. Minus no russian, I think the call of duty franchise knows its not a serious game and plays to its summer blockbuster feel, and it packs a good deal of content as far as just a game goes. Homefront does nothing good. It's a game that was made trying to capitalize on the military craze but doesnt even do that very well. One of the dullest shooters I have ever played.

IF you have seen the B-Movie Red Dawn from the 80s, Homefront is quite enjoyable. You find many references to the movie and it is not that bad. For a fiver in the sales I would get it. Don't expect too much and you won't be disappointed.

I loved home front. I didn't love that it took me only 4hrs to beat it, on normal, and didn't skip any cutscenes. I did love I only payed $5 for it though.

Moral: do it on hard

CoD vs Homefront?

Even with crappy singleplayer, Homefront is still better. Even Multiplayer in that is quite good.

I loved the Homefront campaign. It should have been way longer. Even though it was super short it still beats most of the CoD storylines. The multiplayer is probably my favourite MP in an FPS. Sure as hell hope THQ don't go out of business and Homefront 2 is released.

'waiting for another Homefront II'. There has yet to be one >.>
Anyway, it did have some interesting ideas, hope the sequel will come and improve on it.
