You can get AVG full for free if you look for a reg code :P

Stay with Avast! Free. It really takes seconds to renew it's license. And there are some nasty talks going on about MSE quality. Haven't had problems on my Windows 8 with it and I think it's bullshit but I still think Avast is better. I don't use it on my Windows 8 just because it fucks up internet connections. Some compatibility shit that neither Avast or Microsoft have fixed. Keep Avast!
Btw - I have Avast on my Windows 7 computer for a few years now. No problems with viruses or anything like that.

As opposed to under 7MB that MSE is using right now. With Comodo Firewall combined it's under 12MB being used. So yeah, while 50MB is negligible it's pretty bloated in comparison.

Avast sucks.
Norton 360 and Norton Internet Security are the best.
B4 anyone says they're slow and slow down the CPU - only because you can't set it up properly.

I assume you you had a bad experience with this software. I've been using it for over 7 years and it's been blocking every trojan and virus that ever tried to get into my computer. And I have many friends who are like "Norton? Da fuq man? This shit suuuuucks" and every once in a while they cry that they CPU's got infected with trojans and shit. Yeah. That makes sense. So every time people just bash Norton I don't take that seriously and EVERY person that bashes it never even used it. I'm not saying you too but why don't you like it?

I got Norton when I bought my laptop some years ago. Of course I gave it a try but after a week I just had to get rid of it because it was telling that my documents, that I had made on my old computer that had licensed Kaspersky, were infected. All of them. And uninstallation was pain in the ass too because I uninstalled it, it said everything is gone but when I installed NOD32 (bought license for it but only lived with it while my license ended because it was shit too) it said there is already Norton installed. So I had to go into registry myself, clean it, then search for all files that Norton had left, delete them and even then I had to use some strange tools from internet to actually get it deleted completely. Trust me - almost every computer specialist will say that Norton is big pain and it's not good. Of course, now I use Avast! Free for some years but before I had NOD32 which was problematic and I had BitDefender too. That wasn't so bad but it had some problems with licenses - I bought 1 year license but after a month it showed that my license has expired. Then I decided I don't need that kind of bullshit anymore and got Avast. Would have gotten Kaspersky if I had money then but now I'm too lazy to get it so I'll stay with Avast! Free + Dr.Web CureIT.

Well, I hear you but I had no problems with Norton whatsoever and it stops every trojan and virus that tries to get in. So... I have a good opinion about it :)

That's the thing - most people that I know who used Avast always complain they get trojans and viruses. So I don't really know about quality of this software... some say it's good, some say it's not... with Norton I can say with certainty it's great cause I'm using it all the time.

Go with Avira free.
Avast is (or at least was last time I used it) a bloated piece of garbage, and MSE while nice (in that it doesn't have false positives out the ass and annoys you with popup ads) has missed some detections.
Avira's got some annoying popus, but they can be minimized with a few steps.
1). Open the control panel through Start > Control Panel.
2). Go to Administrative Tools > Local Security Policy.
3). Click on Software Restriction Policy > Action > Create new restriction policy.
4). Right-click, and go to Additional Rules > New path rule.
5). Click Browse and navigate to C:\Program Files\Avira\AntiVir Desktop\ and double-click avnotify.exe.
6). Set the security level to Disallowed.
7). Repeat steps 5 and 6 for avnotify.dll.
8). Click apply and then OK.

I noticed you answered to my post above but I deleted it cause I had to make some changes to it.
I assure you though that I don't work for Norton lol. I'm just a student from Poland. I just have a nice history of using it. It's been working great for me for 7 years. Of course the paid version, not some free stuff.

I would recommend MSE because it is free and it is up-to-date and it runs smoothly in the background. I have been using it for years and i worked in a computer repair shop where it got used mostly, included with a few paid ones. I also use Malwarebytes with MSE.

Yea, I wouldn't use MSE. I'm personally using Avast with Malwarebytes, no issues here.

I disliked Avast due to it picking up false positives constantly on my system (including older game CDs that were inserted into a disk drive). I use MSE and do occasional scans with Malwarebytes and TDSSKiller (anti-rootkit) to ensure that nothing is missed.

I've tried both Avast and AVG and had that happen. I'm not sure why, but they just wouldn't stop being triggered by the most ridiculous things. I haven't had an issue with MSE complaining about normal files in over a year and haven't had any issues with viruses in quite some time.

go with MSE. People hate it because it scans for a long period of time. The reason is that it scans all your file including those that arent scanned by other Internet Security programs.
MSE>everything else out there.
just dont get MSE if you have a pirated copy of OS.

Well, my avast! free license will expire in 25 days, and I was wondering if MSE was any better.
Which one should I use next? Should I keep using avast! free or should I switch to MSE?
I also have Malwarebytes PRO, but the real time protection is disabled, as I wanted to stick with the avast! free one.
Help? Tips? Experience, please?
