I just did 5 copies of Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor giveaway. It ran just about 2 hours. After it ended. A person warned me about leakers leaked my giveaway on a Russian site on my Steam profile. The thing is, he also list leakers profile too. And many of those have quite high level. I wonder why they would leak the giveaway since it even lower their chance.

Still, I wonder how did he know who are the leakers.

The site is here: https://2ch.hk/gabe/res/343331.html

Aren't they the same bunch that leaked Fnord his SGTools giveaways recently?

I think I read that he had 8 invalid entries and they were also Soviets.

Not sure about that but I'm pretty certain it's the same guys that leaked a few of MellyMelly's puzzles last year and kept harassing her afterwards.

Yes I saw that too that they harassed Melly in the SG discussions.

Yes, those are the guys. Found the source for my leaked Kholat giveaway there as well.

Nice outfit, why aren't they permabanned yet...

Private giveaways, SGTools giveaways, Puzzle and Itstoohard giveaways, Very high level CV giveaways are all OK by SG rules and by the wishes from the giveaway creators. Breaking into or trying to cheat the system or leaking these should be very harshly dealt with.

Are you sure they are leakers, not just someone randomly dropping some names because he don't like those guys?

How can one identify that they didn't get the links from just browsing this forum?

Thanks, I looked for that kind of information. Google's website translation was to bad to find out that website's users
Edit: actually there was a nice way to verify the statement: looking up those users steam groups that belong to the website. All of them just got a few groups so I could find it pretty fast to compare that list of marked users

In a perfect world you'd be banned for breaking sg rules. Probably perma for all RED SCUM. Any way you can support those claims by the way? Nice edit, if someone called you a rapist with a disclaimer please research I assume you'd be cool with it.
And of course only platinum members such as yourself know about forum GAs.

Yet another reason to use SGTools for anything of value. It's so easy to identify who used the leaked links and just get them banned from SGTools (and if they happen to have won, also get them suspended here). They have zero to value using a leaked link that bypasses SGTools, and everything to lose. It may sound mean, but I really enjoy getting those rule breakers in trouble :-)

They even leaked the sgtools links for some giveaways..

Btw, how could you identify someone who bypass the sgtools link?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

there is a list of people who tried to get the link, people who passed and people who failed
if someone entered and is not in the "passed list", it's 100% leaked

Ah, thanks for the info..
So that means we still need to manually check it..

Silly me who thought that the sgtools would automatically marked them.. :P

Umh that could be a good idea, it's actually possible, but sgtools can't know if the creator shared the link with a friend of if it was leaked

edit: as the budgie said.

Sgtools has the invalid entries checker. It registers all whom it gave the link to then compares it to the entries.

Permalink

Ah, so it does have that function..
Does it makes the person unable to entry future giveaway via sgtools or we have to set a certain rule like "invalid entries = 0"?
I think I should start playing around with sgtools.. :)

You can report SGTools gate crashers (when you see them in the invalid entries list or in the Train checker) to Knsys, the creator of SGTools, who can permaban them from all SGTools giveaways.

+1

Invalid SGTools giveaway wins are granted a re-roll by SG support on the grounds of leaked invite-only giveaways.

I've only used SGTools once to test it out (I'm definitely thinking of making it regular thing for my GAs, it was neat) and I had no idea that you could get someone banned there! Is it like perma-ban or does it last couple weeks/months? If it's the latter, can you check if a user has previously been banned?

As far as I know it's permanent but the names are not shared (this would be calling out).

puzzles can still be leaked, since people will just share the sgtools link.

it's sad, but these guys are killing part of the forum activity by trolling and being stupid.

And once again began a witch hunt! It's not funny anymore.
Some users of SG who are to blame for leaked GA's are in the blacklists of all honest Russian users.
To avenge this, they post links anonymously. And this compromise all honest users and their friends.
Please be reasonable people. Do not succumb to provocation from a few nasty villains!
They are taking revenge for the blacklists of most honest Russian users.

I think what Mymble wants to point out is that the dishonest member want to lure people to think that all the gaben commune members or even Russian are leakers by posting the leaked link everywhere in Russian community website as a revenge?

This suppose to be a result of them (honest members) blacklisting the dishonest member because of previous event (which I don't know).. -.-a

Exactly!
I can not understand why blame only Gaben Commune? Half of our people are also members of the group http://www.steamgifts.com/group/N1K5t/tehvatican So go to the end and blacklists of ALL Russians!
After all, we are all rascals, is not it? (sad irony)

There are several groups who use that image board. But it does get a bit damning if you look at the people in charge of those groups. When my giveaways got leaked recently a person linked to a good chunk of those groups, probably in an attempt to show that there are a lot of people participating in those groups, but it turned out that I had blacklisted roughly half of the admins of those groups, due to general bad behaviour. So no, not everyone is "bad", but there's a lot of garbage at the top, and that ends up setting the tone for those groups.

Or the honest members are not part of the gaben commune and just joined so the honest members can save the dignity of being Russian?

Permalink

Being Russian is neither a choice nor something bad, but being part of a group known for causing issues like leaking links, group solving puzzles and organizing harassment campaigns is a choice and that's a choice that reflects on anyone who chose to affiliate with that group.

Honestly, it's not a nationality thing...
My last forum giveaways were leaked (only to their friends) by someone from Vatican and France :/
I didn't report them because I didn't really have any rules on SGtools, but I did blacklist all of them after I asked them the reason for leaking and they refused to answer ^_^

If you believe your winner entered your giveaway through an exploit or used a leaked giveaway URL, create a reroll ticket and we'll handle it from there.
