I'm trying to find new friends who love fish and have fish tanks.
I'm about to add guppies into my 2nd aquarium tomorrow.
SOOOO HAPPY. But I'm sad that lady guppies are so grey, and male are so colourful!!!
So I will probably get 3 female and 1 male to breed them too.

I also have a gold fish tank 8 of them, in a really big one.
Have You ever saw a black goldfish?
Yeah I did I actually have 2 of them in my fish tank, but those are a mix with koi, I suppose.

So yeah, feel free to add me, if You want to talk and so on :)
You can also add me to Your white list if I am good enough to get there XD haha

Cheers,
Alice

I remember when i had a small aquarium when i was like 12, 4 guppies (2 males, 2 females) and then a small aquarium with only 1 guppy and full of eggs on the top of the water.
They all ended up dying :^(

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Yeah, live-bearing fish like the guppies have a short lifespan. Plus some of them (like the Molly in the pic) are really sensitive to temperature variations.

So fish tank is how you say "aquarium" in English. Thanks for teaching me a new word!

I used to have a nice fish tank as a kid, it even had a small castle in the middle where the fishes could hide. I'd absolutely love to have a fish tank again :)

Gotta become a grown up first, get some money, move to a bigger place.

Gotta get some responsability as well. I let my bonsai die because I can't take care of beings that don't complain when in need. You know, my fishes hardly ever complained about anything...

Now I know what to do and... well, I don't live with mom anymore, I'm about to become 30, and I do pay for my things. But valueing things and knowing what to do can be not enough for people to really do things. Some people might be too weak in the moment to take control over their lives...

I really like aquariums! I still have two small ones in the attic (30l; 20l). Also guppies are definitely my favorite, followed by the Labeo. I gave up on the hobby, because it can be really expensive, but some day I want to get a 100l+ tank.

The glory of the close-up ;-). Seriously, a turtle is an awesome pet. It's fun to watch him swim around, fun to watch him go OM NOM NOM when it's feeding time, and SUPER low maintenance. Just need to feed him, check the filter and water level, and sometimes clean the tank.

I have 5 tanks:

  1. a 150 gal salt water tank with assorted fish
  2. a 75 gal fresh water pond with goldfish
  3. a 75 gal fresh water tank with african cichlids
  4. a 25 gal fresh water tank with fancy tailed guppies and neon tetras
  5. a 5 gal fresh water with a beta

Sadly I have no pictures and they are all at home while im at college :(

I have the pond outside (with a 6th backup tank in the basement for when its winter), I have one in my bedroom, one in the family room, one in the living room, and one in the kitchen. The basement has about 3 extra tanks as backups that cycle water at different temps and types(salt vs fresh) for water changes or emergencies

my boyfriend has some fish. Those that swim on the glass and clean it. Idk how its called. But they look funny, sticking on the walls of the tanks all the time and going up... and down... and cleaning the walls.

I had fish when I was younger. I had some gold fish a couple of sucker fish and like 10 guppies....

A week later, one of my sucker fish was missing and so were 3 guppies....

A few weeks later, I noticed I was down to 1 goldfish, 3 guppies and 1 sucker fish....

A couple of months later I had 1 goldfish and 1 sucker fish....

It was at this point, we considered the fact that maybe the gold fish was eating the others, forgot to mention the gold fish was starting to get really really big, like 3 or 4 inches long....

4 or 5 years later the gold fish finally died. A year or so later the sucker fish finally died. I was actually surprised it lasted that long. Never had fish after that. My friend however really got into fish and had a few tanks and lots of different kinds of fish and was even selling a few of the babies off.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

So Goldfish definitely ate guppies XD But idk about suckers XD
Too bad they were not living so long.
Goldfish usually live 15 years, Unless You had a Fancy one.

As far as I remember it was just a common goldfish. We were told it was only suppose to live a few years and be friendly with other fish... But this was also a long long time ago. We just got the fish from a local store (believe it was k-mart) if I remember right.

Just reading up on them now and I am surprised they say they can live up to 30 years. Thats just crazy, everyone I knew that had them had to get new ones ever 3 or 4 years cause the gold fish kept dying. And they never ate any of the other fish. lol

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I had a Siamese fighting fish. He died.

I had never experienced a deeper emotional relationship like this with another fish, or animal for that matter, or possibly even human. That could been because those 2 other things eat fish, possibly.

I remember walking into my room seeing my cat's face in the bowl. Turned out he was just drinking the water. Caught my dad doing the same thing.

Yeah.
