Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition is on steam
If you already have the vanilla you'll get 50% discount on it, it includes all 24 DLCs for the old one. Quite a bargain if you don't have any of the DLC I think.

What's the difference between the SD Definitive Edition and the SD Collection?

The Definitive Edition of the critically acclaimed, award winning open-world action adventure, reworked, rebuilt and re-mastered for the new generation. All 24 previously available DLC extensions have been integrated into the game, including the story-extending episode Year of the Snake and the horror-themed Nightmare in North Point. Alongside a wealth of new technological, audio and visual improvements, Hong Kong has never felt so alive.
So basically DE is a better audio and visual version of SD Collection

I can barely run Sleeping Dogs with medium graphics. So, I'll pass.

More likely a GOTY edition.

From what I know, DLCs make the game too easy.

A few of them do, yes. But you can turn DLC off in Steam now.

We still don't know how the previous DLCs will work on the definitive version.
Maybe there will be unlockable options.
I never like DLCs, I miss the days when games reward you with skins after you completed the game or other conditions.

True, but I think they (devs/publishers) know that those DLCs spoil the game and won't force them on everyone.
And I agree with you about the good old days. :)

Not if they are integrated in game. (Like in this case).
But I doubt they include cheats DLC's.

The DLCs you should avoid at all cost in terms of this are The Top Dog packs.
It will level up your skills to level 8 or so. And the max level is at 10.

Yeah, you can find which DLCs you should avoid in one of reviews on Sleeping Dogs' Store page.

Not a problem. Sleeping Dogs Collection and Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition cost the same.

(Or you mean Sleeping Dogs without DLC?)

Is it worth it if I have the original sleeping dogs + all the story dlcs?

I don't think it's really worth it if you don't care about skins.
Just in case you haven't got it, there's a free High Resolution Texture Pack

This is for consoles, where it looks better indeed, due to the new consoles supporting higher resolution textures. On PC? It's virtually the same exact thing.

Id imagine! This version was not in demand at all, I am surprised Square are even publishing it..

It's because it costs them next to nothing to do it, probably. They already had the port of the game. It's not like the "nex-gen" consoles where real porting work was needed due to architectural differences. All they had to do with the PC version, was touch-up the assets a bit (some NPC faces were tweaked,) also tweak some settings (draw distance and such) and that's it. That's the "definitive" edition. Cheaply done. Some people will still buy it, especially if they don't already have the original version.

Nah, HD texture pack is good enough for me. I really need to finish this game, already 75% done but I just can't finish it yet...
