possible video card overheating :) try running a benchmark and see the temperatures on 100% gpu use.

Never use 3rd party drivers, only the official ones. You can get them on Nvidia or AMD websites depending on your vga.

Then, that's it. I thought about over heating too, but as you said it doesn't go over 50Β° so that's not a problem either. Does this happen any other time? This might sound silly, but have you checked your cables?
Oh, and try a different resolution when you play the game see if it makes a difference.

Wow, 900w sounds like over kill but there's no problem there... :D
I'm actually running out of ideas. The only thing I can think of right now is that, one of those vgas might be faulty. so if you could try them separately or borrow a vga from a friend (or an old one you might have) and try those.

You may also want to ask your question on www.tomshardware.com/forum, it's a really good forum and you'll probably get your answer there.

Hope you work it out! :)

Or try that switch out one of the cards or swap places with them to see if it works.

You might want to include your specs and hardware.

I had a similar problem with my old gtx 480s. They would work for a while and then quit sending a signal to the screen. Eventually it worsened and locked up the entire machine so I couldn't even remote connect to diagnose it. Basically, one of the cards died. If you have SLI try disabling one card and then the other. Other than that, look up your warranty or search for replacements.

there's a weird thing... it only does it with XCOM, all the other games works normally at full graphics and stuff

Have you went through your event logs on your system to see what happen before you turned off the computer? Also try to do a clean install of the video card drivers.

You could try closing non-essential programs.

It's a feature, its to stop you from seeing the scary bits. But seriously, other than it overloading your power supply OR your UPS I can't think of anything, but I would look into software (drivers etc) since you seem to have covered everything else.
