i would think that the xlive.dll for bioshock2 could be used for re5. I dont believe that they're game specific (although, i could be very wrong and dont hold it against me). Either way, GFWL is the reason i didn't pick up re5 from GMG albeit being tempted. +1 for my curiosity aswell

I don't really need to play multiplayer so is it possible to save the game without involving GFWL?
And if it does require GFWL to save is there a patch to fix that kinda like with Bioshock 2?
