DISCLAIMER: This is only of any use to you if you use Wine on Linux (or perhaps Mac).

I was getting annoyed with installing games through Steam under Wine only to find out that they don't work and generally getting bored of manually having to look up each and every game in the Wine AppDB before installing them so I've written a little thing to try and automatically match up the two.

I'm basically looking for people to just have a go at it and see if anything looks out of place or if games have been matched up to the wrong game or version (had a few issues with it matching up to toolkits and the like, the appDB has no API so it just uses my own mad hax to figure it all out).

You may need to be patient while it scans for a game the first time if it isn't already in the database.

Anyway, the link is here - just stick your steam ID in and watch it go.

A little bump to help you, and also to help more people use Linux for Windows games.

While a nice idea as concept, it is painfully slow.

Just looking at two or so games from my list rated as "garbage" in comparison to the Wine DB is like people saying "I couldn't install these 32bit-libs on my 64bit-system just now". Well, figures.

It's only painfully slow the first time when it has to look up games that don't already exist in the system. Once your games have been looked up once, with the exception of grabbing your game list from steam at the very start, it should be damn near instant.

And yes, unfortunately I can't help retarded test result reporters ;)

Well, I just run native linux version now. For some game, just grab the DRM Free Linux from HiB.
I also dual boot windows though, but rarely use it (just for other games, Vegas, AfterEffects, etc)

The Linux native version only has the Linux native games though. That consists of about 5% of my Steam library, if that.

Hey, this is a great idea! Maybe not only to check for the quality of games but also to get quick AppDB links to your games.
As of testing I noticed that Endless Space is showing red status instead of the correct green (probably because there are entries for different game versions): http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=26773

Edit3: Better to make previous edits as posts for visibility...

It's because the only version that says "Steam" is broken. The person maintaining the app has essentially made a mess of the version list. I'll exercise my global admin powers and unFUBAR the versions.

Also Heroes of Might and Magic IV are playable with small problems (http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=application&iId=13265)

Doesn't matter, the global Steam rating is garbage which is what it sees, until the maintainer updates that then it'll see garbage each time.

Also Serious Sam 3 shows as orange instead of gold (because one of the versions has "non-steam" in its title, hehe)

Star Conflict has actually a garbage status because someone haven't updated it on AppDB.

Super Meat Boy has same problem as Serious Sam 3 (entries marked as non-Steam are shown instead of version for Steam)
