Help - Steam says I'm playing Medieval 2 Total War but I'm not

Steam says I'm playing Medieval 2 Total War right now but I'm not, it doesn't show up in my processes either, and won't let me enter the game. What should I do?

It won't let me cuz it asks me to quit the game first.

Force quit Steam or if need be, just restart your PC...

Restar the steam, kill the steam process.

Ctrl + Shift + Esc and finish Steam.

it shows up in task manager as "Launcher"
kill that , and it shud be ok

alt+ctrl+del right click steam.exe end process.
