A new subpage has appeared on the dota 2 website.

Good news are that all heroes will be free, bad news are... actually there aren't bad news.

EVERY item in the game can be got without real life money.

You can look at the store yourself here. There are over 200 items available! Also, there is a workshop, where you can submit stuff you've made AND get a percentage of the sales that item got.

TLDR: Dota 2 follows the TF2 sales model.

No way I'm saying goodbye to TF2, but I will still play Dota 2.

I like to see Valve heading in this direction with their games and I want more of this.

How funny, look at all the laughing people. Also 200% more original than every "joke" one would make.

Totally no sarcasm

A great example of what other "F2P" game devs should follow.

Indeed, pretty much TF2 in Dota style. Everyone got a 'crate' rewarded, so guess valve wants to see how many people buy a key.

I hope they make items that can be worn by multiple heroes.

Awesome to hear. I just have my doubts whether this will work out for them. Who is going to spend ANY time looking at other players heroes? In TF2 you would see other people's hats in killcams + they generally pop out. In Dota2 that is not the case.

The patch notes from yesterday say they added support for custom items in Kill Cam.
