A gamer's hard to get a girlfriend?

My main point is that it's easier. There will always be men and women of standards. There will always be men and women with no standards. You say Hollywood is not a good example of art. I agree with you there for much of it. What Hollywood IS is popular. It is literally a product and reflection of the society that feeds it. Money feeds it, which mean people feed it. They give what we want. Artistic it may not be, but neither is the population. It is a representation of the people. That's what we're talking about right? How people really are? Also I don't really mean North America, so much as the first world in General (as I can't speak beyond that). But sure, for the sake of this discussion lets assume North America.

And bots? You must be joking. I have a male friend I found through work. He's more than 10 years younger than me. He's a shy overweight geek. He has a ton of potential. I directed him to popular dating web site called POF.com (plenty of fish). Be tried a couple others, but the population on them was far too small. Had been there for two months. Be sent out hundreds of messages. I saw him, and even helped him write them out. Thoughtful messages. He read each profile carefully. He's a sweet kid. He got exactly 2 people contact him I. Those two months, and those were only responses to his own messages. Our line of work, we deal with making emails and various accounts. So we experimented. I created an account for a fictional female. I left no profile picture, but a decent description. Stated the she was overweight and jobless. We put it up that morning. I said that she was looking for "a serious relationship". In 24 hours, she got I believe it was 89 different messages (89 or 98. I always mess up numbers like that). Yes most of them were crap. They were outright sexual advances or nice sounding messages with generic details (thus assumed bots or dickheads). But 4-6 of them looked legit. They read the profile I made, mentioned details. Tried to sound good. A couple were awkward as hell, but sounded legit. 24 hours, with bare minimum details when you search for people (crappy title and no pics, with undesireable body image), but a very detailed and long profile. The intent was to see how easy it is. This is part of why I'm passionate about this. Fake girl "Chelsea" got 4 sweet sounding guys to message her. My friend got only 2 girls, and that was after 2 months and they were only interested replies. So yeah, women have crap to sift through, but so much easier. Don't believe me? Pick a dating site. ANY site. POF.com is among the most popular and free, so you'd be hard pressed to find a city/town not populating it. See for yourself.

No the above story is not fake. No, it is not me either. I tried my share of online dating too, which is why I wanted to try the test out.
My friend was depressed for a good while. His friends helped him out, and pushed him to come out and socialize and meet girls. We'd get up there and talk on his behalf, or throw him in unprepared. He stumbled and fell and got sad sometimes. We were there to help him. To brush him off. He was rejected often. Told him it was like an rpg, to not let failure think he lost, but to thing of it as XP, and we was getting stronger. He had to prep for that final boss by level raising with random mobs. He'd never find his one if he waited for her. Control your own destiny and all that. Why do I give these details? Cause he tried for a long time, broke his back and cried a lot of tears. During that time we were In coffee shops, shopping, bars/taverns, sporting events, walking about, and various other public places. Do you know what never happened? No girl walked up to him, or me or the other 2-4 other males. Do you know what did happen? My girlfriend, and a female friend got hit on frequently. All they had to do was leave the house. They were hit on while in a group of guys I might add.
