It's better if you don't expect to win. More of a rewarding feel.

"Maybe it's because I'm a realist and know I won't win again." You sound more like a classic pessimist. Anyways, don't expect much and you will never be let down. My last two wins, which were in the last 2 weeks and public GAs, were AAA titles. I had no expectations to win but was extremely happy when I did. I like the community here and find it to be a great place to dump unwanted keys, extra inventory items and chat a bit with folks on the forums. Think of it like winning the lottery, someone has to win but odds are...it won't be you. It's the fun of the chase. :)

My opinion is don't stress yourself out. It's free so what do you loose other then 5 minutes (sometimes more) a day to enter free giveaways for games.

The problem is that some people come here convinced this website is some sort of gold mine that will fill up their steam library and it's what makes them bitch so much and make so many threads about how much it sucks that they're not winning. Don't expect to win, just take it as a pleasant surprise when you do, it's that simple. The community around here is more than decent and interesting enough that you don't have to come here just to win free stuff.
You have won 8 games in 3.6k entries. There have even been people who got their first win around the 3k mark. You're lucky, stop acting like it's the end of the world. Keep entering and you will win more.

Why, the chance that I might win a free game keeps me around and excited, of course! Even a small chance to win is definitelly better than no chance at all :)
I currently have about 2,750 entries, of which maybe 25 were group Giveaways. So far, I've been lucky to win a game every other month or so, so can't really complain :)

And I know I'm probably one of the 1/2 of a percent that isn't in one. But how do you keep going with entries knowing that the chance to win is slim to none in open GA's?
Yes I know I have had 7 wins, but now, almost 3700 entries and nothing in the past almost 1200 entries gets a bit discouraging, doesn't it? Especially if it's a game you REALLY want and the GA has very few entrants. Maybe it's because I'm a realist and know I won't win again. Maybe I'm just too stupid to give up, and yes I know people are going to comment on the stupid part, but I DON'T CARE ANYMORE!
What keeps you going?
